We always stay at The P. A. L. M. motel when we drive between California and Oregon. Every room is slightly different - some rooms allow pets and some don’t. Many of the rooms are like retro old school motel rooms - basic but very comfortable and sweet. They have three larger units also if you are looking for something larger with more amenities. Their website is easy to use and you see which rooms are available along with a description. But what really makes The P. A. L. M. special are the motel grounds. It has lovely gardens and common areas that were designed to encourage guests to use the outdoor space - with plenty of seating areas, BBQ grills and a small fun pool with cabanas. The decorations in the main garden are really fun and I encourage scanning the bar code on the colorful cement bench to read the story behind the tile and art designs. We like walking downtown to dinner but there is a great, highly rated breakfast spot right next door. This motel is really special and feels like a home away from home.

We were here for one night in November. We had a queen room without a kitchen. They call themselves a boutique hotel but the room is absolutely nothing special. For the price you pay you can get a much nicer room (the Bard for example) which also includes breakfast. We stay in motels at least 120 nights per year and we would not recommend staying here. On the plus side the office staff is pleasant and the room was clean.

Amazing
This place is beautiful and very cozy! Thankfully they also have rooms for dog owners, as we had our sweet dog with us as well. The rooms are well equipped and very comfortable! The front desk manager was very helpful & welcoming. I would definitely stay here again.
