McMenamins Gearhart Hotel

This listing is provided by The Oregon Coast

On the northern Oregon Coast, just north of Seaside, lies the laid-back community of Gearhart, where you can choose pure relaxation or coastal adventure, ocean sunsets or a round of golf.

Gearhart Hotel is situated on the 18-hole Gearhart Golf Links—one of the oldest courses west of the Mississippi—and just across the dunes from the Pacific Ocean.

Select a guestroom in the original building or one in the 2018 cedar-shingled Annex, with echoes of the original hotel. King- or queen-sized beds, private bathrooms and televisions make your stay comfortable, and McMenamins signature artwork, touches of history integrated with Pacific Northwest coastal style make it intriguing.

Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Sand Trap Pub: Start your day with our house-roasted espresso or a Bloody Mary; stop in for a bite and a pint after a round of golf or a day of beachcombing. For some lively fun, check out the pub’s schedule of free music.

In fair weather relax on the patio, gather ’round the outdoor fire pit with a fresh juice cocktail, or duck into the Pot Bunker Bar, a cozy lair adorned with antique golf clubs.

The Sand Bar is nestled between sand dunes and rolling hills. Stop in for a handcrafted ale and burger in this cozy bar, complete with wood stove. Take note of the one-of-a-kind bar top, crafted from a tree struck by lightning at McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse.

Ask for your meal to go; staff will pack it up so you can dine on the beach.

In the Annex you’ll find the Swingers Lounge Golf and Fitness Center – a virtual golf center by Foresight Golf, complete with a launch monitor and golf-specific workout area. Golfers can also enjoy a new 20,000-square foot putting green, designed with dips and swales.

Event spaces are available for weddings, conferences and events of all kinds.

Gearhart Hotel allows pets at select tables on the back patio, and in hotel rooms for a $15 fee.
