Nice, but a bit dated. Well worth the price. Had a balcony room, so we got to hear the ocean all night. :-)
Nice staff. Very accommodating. Gave us a nice quiet room with balcony. Loved hearing the ocean and wildlife (birds, frogs, etc.). Tub was great for soaking! So deep!Breakfast was very minimal, but got what we needed. Nice Mexican restaurant next to hotel.

(Read to the End there's more bad than good unfortunately.) 1. The front desk staff at this place is awesome! That is about the only thing this place does right. They were personable, friendly, and attentive. Some were very good conversationalists, and made the stay that I felt trapped in tolerable. 2. The size and depth of their Bathtub. The bathroom was clean, but that door needed to be replaced 30 years ago. 3. The location was a little under 1/2 a mile to the beach access, and two resteraunts are basically in the parking lot, a Thai, and Mexican place. Both have very good food. 4. Beds were relatively comfortable. We stayed in the family suite, and my boys said the twin mattresses were really comfy. **Now the bad. I wish I would have scoured the reviews, so I could see the pattern of complaints about cleanliness, bugs, and lack of repairs. 1. The pool was broken for two of the three nights we stayed, the sauna was out of order too. It looks like they aren't even trying to fix the sauna, so don't let the pictures fool you. The sauna was one of the reasons I booked this place. The hot tub works, but looks really dirty, and needs a refinishing, and the jets are not working properly. The fitness room is a closet, and well let's just say you'd get a better workout jogging down to the beach and back. 2. The Hotel room was so muggy, musty, and smelly. I had to open the window to air out the room, smelled like dirty feet, and wet dog, leading me to my next point. 3. The window seals had tons of dirt and cob webs, and the screens are bent and broken. Housekeeping hasn't cleaned the window seals in forever, if at all. (See Pics) I'm not a snob, I just expect integrity in work ethic, especially when you charge this much for a room. Housekeeping, Management, and Corporate clearly do not care about this Hotel. Which is unfortunate, because it could be absolutely awesome if they did. Management needs to do room checks, and quality control. The pattern of complaints tell me there has been a longstanding problem for years. This place used to be cool, till someone stopped holding housekeeping, and maintenance staff to account. 4. The pullout couch bed still had sheets on it from the guest before. When I pulled it out the sheet was full of dirt, and what looked like pine needles. I went down to ask for sheets at the front desk, and ended up using the flat and fitted sheets as a mattress protector, because they clearly don't use mattress protectors on the couch bed mattress. When I took the old used sheet off, the mattress looked like a crime scene, or like someone messed the bed. I was really regretting my choice at that point, but I knew they wouldn't give me a refund, and it was late. I was also afraid they would want me to move rooms, and I was scared of what we would find in that one, if this one is like this. 5. We found out very late that we wouldn't be using the AC/Heating unit, because we are asthmatic and it was crazy dirty, hairy, and dusty. (See Pics) 6. Breakfast was not good. It was edible but not good. Had a bagel and cream cheese every day. Until I smartened up and ran to the Grocery Outlet to get our own breakfast options in our room. The coffee was watered down so bring espresso powder, they ran out of sugar packets, and the front desk ran out too, so I hope you like Sweet&Low, because they have an over abundance of that stuff. I don't think I will ever be returning, unless it gets bought out by someone who cares enough to make this Hotel the peak place it could be. I shouldn't have to use my own Clorox wipes to clean my room just to be able to feel okay-ish. The housekeeping, and maintenance work ethic needs to change to get these rooms into deep cleaned, and peak condition. I know some person is going to say reach out to us we value your feedback. However I have seen from the negative reviews it probably won't help long term.

Poor management and customer service
Booked directly through their hotel site. Booked specifically for hot tub and pool as we usually stay ocean front but decided to mix it up. Upon arrival pool and hot tub were down. Kids were very disappointed so I asked if we could possibly book somewhere else the following night as I did not want to try and find a place for that same night. I was told yes since I booked through their site. Later I proceeded to cancel the following night. Once we got settled into our room, the tv was being weird and flashing stuff the whole time we watched a movie. I don’t like to complain so we just dealt with it. Later in the evening the people above us were being so so loud. Once it hit 10:10 I called and asked if the front could give a friendly reminder to be quiet. She said she would. 20 min later the banging and loud foot steps were still happening. I called again, she said she would try surrounding rooms. I said ok. 20-30 min later still being very loud. My son peeked his head out the balcony and could tell it was the people above us. So I call again. This time they said they would go up there. It was close to 11:15. After that I tried to snooze however the disruption was still happening. I did not want to pack up and move and neither should have too. If anything they could have moved the very loud guest to a bottom floor as they had already received 2 warnings. Eventually I called again around 12:15 and was told the same thing. We had loud noise coming from them till close to 2am. Barely got any sleep. In the morning I mentioned this to the front. She said she had heard and was very sorry. Not to mention their breakfast was very minimal so don’t believe the great breakfast comment. After leaving I asked for the manager to call me. 2 dats later I still had not received a call. So I emailed. Got a call from a person who said they were kinda like a supervisor. I explained everything and she apologized however she said nothing bf was documented which is so untrue! I told her I don’t know how that could be. Both employees I spoke too knew what happened. Then she said she would try to get me a refund. I was just thinking a discount because $200 is a lot for one night of paying to sleep and not getting much. I was pleasantly surprised. She said she would call me back. Few days go back and I never get a call. I emailed again and they told me they were not giving me any refund. I was shocked so I emailed back and asked for a discount… have not heard a thing! Very disappointing as many other hotels this would have never happenedy. I honestly don’t know what’s going on as I have stayed before and never had this many issues. Sadly I will not be returning if they are not willing to make it right. Management is lacking as I can see with most the recent reviews.

Lacking hospitality, not clean, out of order pool/hot tub/sauna
Summary: Do yourself a favor and find another place to stay! Lack of professionalism, lack of amenities, lackluster breakfast. When we arrived to check in to our room, the front desk advised they were not able to honor our reservation through Expedia, and they were not able to provide us the room that we reserved (family suite). Instead they put us into a standard 2 queen bed room. The front desk person stated that there was nothing they could do for us in this situation, and charged us the same rate for a lesser room. We asked to speak with a manager, and were told that was not possible. We then called to Expedia who also called the property and they were not able to change the outcome or the properties lack of hospitality. I pointed out to the front desk person that I could book a 2 queen room on Expedia for substantially less than the reserved rate for the family suite. They did nothing besides blame Expedia and telling us we should not have booked through a third party. The front desk person said we could speak to the in charge at 11 PM when he came onto shift. I waited up till 11 PM to speak with the manager or in charge person “Joe” who was also a brick wall of blaming Expedia, saying that Expedia had booked us into the Queen room, which was blatantly false. I tried to give Joe the opportunity to make things right by getting us into the room we booked for the next two nights of our stay or at bare minimum provide a discount, but again no hospitality.
