I am giving the Campfire Hotel a "terrible" rating and I want to provide a fair and objective summary as to why: 1. We had an expensive e-MTB stolen. The bike was on my rack with cable locks. Thieves cut through the cables in the middle of the night. When I originally checked in I asked about parking options for my Sprinter Van because the parking on the property is really tight. I was told to park on the street. I was not comfortable, because of the bikes, but the staff stated they don't have any issues, and they did not offer storage solutions for my bikes, even though the website states that they cater to the outdoor adventure community and will help with storing valuable gear. Importantly, when the police officer showed up to complete a report, she explained that the homelessness and crime in this area is an ongoing concern and guests should be made aware so preventative measures can be taken to protect persons and property. 2. When checking out, I started packing up the Van at 530am. I witnessed 2 homeless people walking around the hotel property going through trash cans, etc. looking for aluminum cans. I let the front desk person know and she said she was working on reservations and didn't have a moment to monitor the cameras. For clarity, I learned from the police officer that there is a large homeless center nearby and a recycling center behind the Hotel. Evidently, the recycling center causes much of the crime issues because it attracts people the return cans for drug money. I am sharing my experience, because I believe this is important information for any potential guests to consider. I wish I had this information. I sent an email to the Manager about all of this, and I did appreciate his response. He was sincere in his comments and seemed committed to making proactive changes so staff takes these matters seriously so as to limit/prevent issues in the future. I have no doubt if the Manager uses this as an opportunity to improve security measures and increase transparency they can avoid experiences like this in the future.

THE HOTEL OF ENDLESS HORRORS
IT IS MY OPINION THAT: It is a hotel of horrors. NOTHING, NOTHING can compare to how bad it is, NOTHING! The pictures of their property do not depict how bad it really is. We paid for the one-night stay; we were stuck. We put our shoes on to go to the bathroom at night! The bed was right out of medieval times. We wouldn't return to that property if THEY paid us to stay!

I wasn't certain what to expect but we had a clean room, with access to a small fridge (just take out the cans that act as a mini bar and put them back before you leave) and some comfortable seating. They included two old school lawn chairs for sitting outside (or to double as a nightstand because they only had one from a king bed) While I kiind of liked the design of the clothing holder next to the sink-I would have prefered a dresser for the clothing. We just left most clothing in our suitcases since they provided to suitcase valet stands. The bed was a bit hard for me but I got used to it. For the price, especially with the saltwater pool and hottub, it was a handly place to stay with easy access to the Hayden Home Amphitheater, a variety of restaurants, and the river. Housekeeping is upon request only and there is no in room safe place to store anything valuable but we didn't bring anything pricey to float the river. We had a great time on the trip and the feel of the lobby, the fun of the bar and the chance to be able t order or pick up food and eat outside overlooking the pool was wonderful. The best thing about this vacation spot? The STAFF!!! Every person we interacted with at the front desk were friendly, helpful and kind. The bartender, also a lot of fun and kind-and she mixes a mean old fashioned!

If you want to get out of the ordinary hotel/motel stay the Campfire is for you. As the name suggests the motif is based around the outdoors and the rooms are decorated accordingly. They even have foldup chairs in the room! The outside has a large fire pit that I would guess is very popular in the winter. The staff are very congenial and the outdoor pool is quite popular. There is even a wonderful breakfast burrito truck parked there that is very popular.. With all this said I would not recommend the Campfire to most Seniors who value quiet as it is a young person/family type atmosphere and it can get quite noisy. They even provide earplugs in the rooms to mitigate the joy outside. With all said it is a fun place & recommended for most.
