Imagine yourself as a traveler along a section of the Applegate Trail in the late 1800’s. You have just arrived by stage coach at the Wolf Creek Inn. This is a long-sought-after refuge from a not-so-comfortable journey over mountains and across valleys. After paying 75 cents for a room, bath, and meals, you’re ready to relax. You sit down to a good meal and some easy conversation with the innkeepers or other guests. Afterwards, the men sidle off to the tap room for some quaffs of beer while the ladies adjourn to the parlor. The conversation drifts from tales of inspirational beauty to frightful experiences of the trail.

Worth a stop, BYOF/B
Charming, comfortable, historic inn in Southern Oregon worth a stop or stay. We stayed mid week when the restaurant was closed. You check yourself in with inn keeper available by text. The room and common spaces are beautifully appointed and comfortably rustic. Granola bars, oatmeal packets, coffee and standard tea is available. There’s a small fridge and dining room upstairs. Pro tip: bring your own food and bevs as you won’t find anything nearby. The town itself has seen better days. We discovered the meth camp on a dog walk and agree it lends a creepy vibe to the area.

Romantic getaway
Nice relaxing get away! Great service at the restaurant, beautiful grounds, and lots to explore. The rooms were cozy and historic. Loved all the history in the building. We enjoyed the games in the ballroom and the to go desserts in our room.

More Ghosts Soon
When we arrived there was a guy across the street at the roadside store that was checking us out. It turned out he was a resident of a small homeless encampment nearby. I’ll get back to that later. Our room was small, but nice. There was no TV. Comfortable bed, an adequate bathroom with a good shower. The building is nice, particularly the history of it. We went on a hike up to London Peak, which was short, cold and pretty. The night we stayed the restairant wasn’t open, so we had to backtrack to Grant’s Pass for dinner. Later on there was a yelling contest over at the encampment, which is my way of saying there was a loud argument. We thought we heard gunshots, but there were no sirens and we didn’t call it in, so maybe we were mistaken. All I know is if we were heading in that direction again, we’d chose to stay elsewhere, not because there isn’t a TV or any other problem with the inn, we were just kind of creeped out from the encampment.

Charming and historic and haunted
My second visit this summer: lovely grounds and cozy room, particularly festive with elaborate Halloween decorations both on their outdoor dining patio and in my room, awesome and tasteful, good fun. Food is excellent, served Thursday through Sunday so I made a point to visit then. My new go to overnight stop on the Interstate 5, just a mile or two away but way back to a quieter time. Thank you Leeann and staff!

Super cute and nostalgic
We didn't know anything about the hotel, but chose it because of it has an EV charging station on site. We are so happy we did..it is uber charming and is in a beautiful spot. Our king room was a bit tight, but it had a nice outlook to the back "yard", a comfy bed, and was charmingly furnished. The hotel is historic and interesting, offers a delicious breakfast, and the folks who work there are super nice. If you don't need much personal attention at check-in, it's perfect (they'll send you check-in instructions before you arrive). Unfortunately we were not there on the night the restaurant was open to serve dinner - it would have been nice to try. Super stop over!
