La Bastide. It’s not just the wineries, though there are hundreds nearby. And it’s not just the restaurants, despite the acclaim that local restaurants have earned. And it’s not just the local farms, produce stands, distilleries, or breweries. And it’s not just parks, trails, or the Air and Space Museum. And it’s not just the close proximity to Portland or the Oregon Coast. It’s all of these, and more. The Dundee Hills are home to some of the best wineries in the world. There are more boutique vineyards here than any place in the Northwest. You can wine, dine, and play here like no place else. And you can stay in some of the most comfortable and authentic inns in the world. La Bastide offers 7 comfortable guestrooms, each with a king- or queen-sized bed and private bathroom, and many with a fireplace. A memorable breakfast is included each morning. Your hosts, Mark and Elizabeth, are glad to help you plan your visit, whether it’s winery reservations, or a day-trip to the Oregon Coast.

A hidden beauty and not to be missed
If you are looking for an outstanding stay, you won't disappointed. The setting is lovely and I was welcomed by one of the hostesses and was shown around, given details of where everything was and the public amenities. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast selections are emailed to you with a very varied menu, and your choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The quality of breakfast was excellent. I choose outdoor seating and with the beautiful setting, it was perfect. The other guests were all pleasant and congenial and made the total experience excellent. If you're going, make you reservations early so you don't miss out. I will definitely book early for my next trip.

What we all want in a B&B
This b&b is just wonderful in all areas. The innkeepers were so helpful in recommending places to eat and visit. The rooms were comfortable quiet and spotless . Breakfast was delicious. Location is perfect for winery visits and meals. Easy parking

Winter overnight stay
I needed an overnight stay in the Dundee/Newberg area after a dinner at The Painted Lady. Check-in at La Bastide was easy and friendly. I booked the Provence Room, which was spacious with three windows. The sink is separate from the toilet/shower room (which is small). There was a small table with two upholstered chairs and another, slightly larger, upholstered chair. Keurig coffee/beverages, a refrigerator of water and soft drinks, and microwave is available in the dining room at all hours. You order breakfast ahead via an internet link and can have it in your room or the dining room. I chose the dining room. You can choose as many ala carte items as you wish, so it was as amply as you desire. I had the crustless quiche, fruit, and maple bacon muffin and that was a huge, delicious meal. I was very satisfied. The room does not have a separate thermostat, so you should contact the host to have temperature adjusted. As it was snowy outside, I didn't get to enjoy the lovely patio, which would be ideal for sipping wine. You can easily walk from La Bastide to wine tasting rooms, etc. in Dundee (although it would be at least 3 blocks to the first one), so it would be a good base exploring on foot.

Lovely Bed and Breakfast
It was our last night in Oregon. After traveling along the coast and national park all week, we wanted a nice relaxing bed and breakfast to finish the trip. La Bastide was perfect. What a beautiful French inspired place. The room was very cute, neat, detail oriented, clean, roomy and pretty. I wish we stayed longer. We didn't want to leave the next day! Highly recommended!

Wonderful Hosts, Fantastic Breakfasts, Great Location
We spent three nights at La Bastide B&B this past week. I think we had one of the smaller rooms on the first floor - but we loved the yellow walls and large bathroom and walk-in shower! The couple who owns it are charming and fabulous cooks!! Breafast was a treat every morning with homemade bread and muffins and great egg dishes. They are next door to Hyland Vineyard and we were blessed to get into the Harvest wine-paring dinner there....and what a treat that was! We highly recommend La Bastide - and will return to it next time in Oregon.
