Ok, if I could give this place 10 stars, I would. I had called them a few hours before arriving to let them know I was planning on proposing to my girlfriend. They waited until we went out the next day for a few hours, came into our room and decorated the entire room with roses, rose petals, towel swan sculptures on the bed, a beautiful congregation card, and a bucket with chilled Chardonnay (girlfriends favorite) on the table. I barely said I was proposing, let alone expect all of the extra effort by the very kind staff here. My Girlfriend/now Fiancé was totally shocked and surprised when she entered the room!!! Priceless!!! They made precious memories that will never be forgotten.
A few other priceless amenities you can expect. The balcony suite I would compare to a cruise ship view, practically hanging over Depot Bay. I opened the sliding door on the first night and actually had light sea spray floating in the air. I’m a sucker for the ocean, and if you like it too, get a balcony room. Next few days had sunny beautiful views of the bay from the balcony. The studio suite was huge, with well appointed furniture, vaulted ceilings, lots of windows, nice big vanity for my gal, and nice bed. The breakfast in the really neat colonial lobby, overlooking the bay with huge viewing windows, was better than I’ve had at big name brand hotels. Lots of fresh fruit varieties, hand crafted parfaits, eggs, sausage or bacon, biscuits and gravy, etc…. Way too much than you will need. Great coffee, cocoa, or tea and plenty of other drinks.
I’ll wrap this review up with saying if you like being literally on the doorstep of the restaurants and shops of Depot Bay ( Tidal Raves is a wonderful restaurant about a 5 minute walk) enjoy colonial type lodging on the water with breathtaking views, and the sweetest group of people tirelessly doting on you, you have found your choice!
Thank you Polly and crew!!! We will surely be back!!!
