About Dirty Freehub

Dirty Freehub on the surface is about sharing great gravel bike routes. Five stars. The ones that make you think, “Wow, now that was too much fun.” Dirty Freehub provides maps with loads of nitty-gritty details so you can venture out to a place you would have never found, all for free.

And they want you to learn about the areas you ride — through podcasts and links in the guides — about the history, the art, the culture and the environment. They want you to love where you ride … to inspire you to become volunteers, donors, and advocates for these wonderful places.

Route types include 5 Star, Bikepacking, Development and All Access. All Access routes are shorter, less technical and less risky routes for riders. They are mostly on proper gravel roads, less than 25 miles in length and less than 1500 feet of gain. The Hauling Lava route was created with adaptive athletes in mind, including those using trikes or quads. It’s also a great choice for anyone looking for a shorter ride with minimal climbing and easier terrain.
