Kevin was a great guide with a wealth of knowledge. Concierge at Balsall Creek was Fantastic and owner at Woodshed was equally as knowledgeable. For the cost of tour, I think that should cover cost of tastings!
This was an excellent tour! We were so lucky as the day we booked, we were the only booking. We had Camille as our driver/guide. She was an absolute font of knowledge about the wine industry. Having her all to ourselves, we could ask questions and have a dialogue, versus her just giving information if we had a bus full of people. We were able to visit 3 different wineries, each with their own personalities. Two were smaller wineries and the last was larger with many more people there. The wine tasting flight costs were not included in the tour, but the tastings were superb. We had an included lunch at the second winery. It was a box lunch with a turkey sandwich, chips, fruit and hazel nuts. It was very filling and tasty. As we went from one winery to another, we learned a lot about the history or the area and how the wine industry has changed over time. The tour was about 8 hours and the time just sped by. This was an absolutely wonderful tour and I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys wine and is interested in seeing the wine country of Oregon.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Amazing Day in the Willamette Valley with Wayne! We had an absolutely incredible day touring the Willamette Valley with Wayne! From the moment he picked up our group of 6 adults at our hotel in Portland, his energy and personality made the entire day so enjoyable. He was incredibly easy to talk to, and his knowledge of the history of the Willamette Valley and Oregon made the drive between wineries just as interesting as the wine tasting itself. Wayne had a clean, comfortable vehicle that was perfect for our group. He took the time to understand our wine preferences and priorities, especially our desire for beautiful, scenic views, and selected three wineries that were a perfect fit for us. He also made all of our winery reservations in advance, making the entire day completely seamless and stress-free. Wayne even provided a delicious picnic lunch that he packed for us and set up at one of the wineries, which was such a thoughtful touch. Everywhere we went, it was clear that Wayne has built wonderful relationships with the wineries—the staff knew him and treated us so well. His knowledge, connections, energy, and attention to detail made for an unforgettable experience. We would absolutely recommend Wayne to anyone visiting the Willamette Valley, and we’re already looking forward to taking another tour with him someday!

Our party of four spent the day with A Great Oregon Wine Tour, and it set a new standard. Wayne, the owner, built our itinerary around a specific request. I wanted at least one winery pouring Sauvignon Blanc in a valley dominated by Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. He found Balsall Creek, then rounded out the day with Ridgecrest and Compris. All three were off the beaten path. No crowded tasting rooms, no tour bus circuit. Just remarkable wines and winemakers with stories to tell. Our guide Robert is a master sommelier, and it showed all day. My wife and I have tasted extensively in the Russian River Valley and Bourgogne, and Robert drew sharp comparisons between all three regions. He walked us through the Willamette’s geologic history, from the Missoula Floods to the volcanic and marine sedimentary soils that define its AVAs, and connected it all to what was in our glasses. It was a full day of wine education disguised as a tasting tour. The picnic lunches, made by Wayne and his wife, were a highlight of their own. The turkey sandwich with apple and cucumber drew raves from the table. My vegan lettuce wrap was every bit as good. These were not afterthought box lunches. Our group of four had a roomy van to ourselves, which kept the whole day comfortable and unhurried. If you want a Willamette Valley experience beyond the usual stops, book with Wayne and ask for Robert.
