We went on the two day Kern river safari trip and had an outstanding time. Camp, food and guides were awesome — Ellie, Anthony and Alex were friendly and skilled on the water, and Lily and River were great camp hosts. Definitely recommend this high energy whitewater section of the Kern and the care that Momentum puts into a providing a perfect balance of thrill and relaxation.

Incredible
I actually cannot say enough good things about our experience with Momentum on the Kern. I had never done white water rafting and was honestly slightly nervous! But the team we had (Anthony, Alex, Cale, and I’m so sorry but I can’t remember the name of the woman who managed the campsite!) were a well oiled machine. It was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken. - pre trip communication was extremely clear. Helpful packing list. I knew what to expect. - pre river safety talk was easy to understand and made me feel prepared for the journey - the food was SO TASTY. When camping you expect bare minimum and that was not the case here. Lovingly prepared. Healthy, filling, balanced, delicious. And plenty of it, - the campsite and amenities are beautiful. They take care of everything for you. Bonus surprise benefits: - bar at camp! The team made us drinks! How lovely - they took a ton of photos for us. We brought our own waterproof disposable which was fun but they also had a digital camera they passed from boat to boat and then shared the photos after. Lastly… Anthony is a gem. I feel so lucky we got paired with him as our guide. It’s clear he knows his stuff backward and forward. I felt safe the entire journey because we were in his hands! Prior to each run, he gave very clear instructions on what to expect and what he would need each of us to do for the run to be a success. He’s a rockstar and an expert in his field. He also made the trip incredibly fun for us! We ended up taking down his information because we want to go on more rafting trips with him!! In Anthony we trust! All in all, I was so impressed with this trip and the entire staff. While I was brand new to white water rafting, this trip has made me fall in love with it. I will be back and I will be back on the Kern with Momentum!

Heaven on Earth
My 10-year-old granddaughter and I took a 3-day rafting/kayaking/camping trip down the Lower Klamath in Oregon with Momentum's staff; head guide Bert, and two of the most capable women I'll ever meet: Bridgette and Maya. The rapids run from level 2 to 3+ (that I would rate a solid 4) and we were guided through them with presence and care and an amazing rescue when we hung ourselves up on the rocks. The campsites, especially Raccoon Point, were natural wonders. And the night sky gave us the Big Dipper right overhead, the Milky Way and shooting stars. The best surprise--with no internet, the kids discovered tadpoles and mini frogs and were entertained for hours. Thanks Momentum.

Amazing 2 day Kern river trip
We just finished a 2 day trip on the Kern River. Both me and my son (14yo) are inexperienced rafters, but felt completely safe in the capable hands of our guide, Alex. His expertise made our trip. We never felt unsafe on the water and even made it through more than a few level 4 rapids! All of the guides, Cale and Anthony included were personable, professional and extremely competent. From the accommodations to the safety equipment and food, this was as good as it gets. I’m already trying to figure out when we can come back with the rest of the family! Thank you for such a great experience!

Family White water trip
We took our kids (11 and almost 14) on the 2 day Kern safari trip this weekend and from start to finish the staff and guides thought of everything! From cold towels on arrival to camp, to cold cocktails, games and everything in between. Alex, Cale and Anthony were wonderful guides who made the experience for my family safe but full of adventure! There wasn’t a swim spot we missed, a cliff jump we didn’t get to do, our camp was set up to perfection with our luggage waiting in our glamping tents. I would absolutely recommend this trip!
