Last summer I spent the night on the summit of South Sister to watch the Perseid Meteor Shower. It was a very hot day and as the day faded the temperature dropped which made it very comfortable conditions for viewing the beautiful night sky. The sun set through the haze caused by forest fire smoke. As the blue sky turned to black the stars began to twinkle and dance around. Then the show began, the meteor shower started.
