Growing up in a seaside town in Orange County, California, Devon Holloway DeMint started to feel a symbiosis between the writing she did on land and the surfing she did in the water early on. She is the author of The Tale of a Mermaid, a blog she started to blend both passions. Besides surfing and writing she loves animals, exploring, and her family and friends. She hopes to get better at skateboarding and knitting.

Wild Coast

I want to take in every last bit of Oregon, but I want to write about it while I’m in it, so I’m going to try to do both. We’re on Highway 101 headed home. My husband Scott and I have been on the road for nineteen days; merging and turning along Coast Highway towards Oregon from San Diego to endure the chaos and occasional break in plans a road trip provides, hoping to feed on the spirit of spontaneity.
