Write for Travel Oregon

Contributor Submission Guidelines

Got something to say about travel, food and drink or the outdoors? We are always on the lookout for wordsmiths of the Oregon persuasion. Here are some places you can get your words, photos and videos on Travel Oregon’s print and online channels.

Seasonal Features: This quarterly collection of stories highlights the Oregon spirit in people and places around the state. Itineraries and profiles are written by experienced travel, food and outdoor writers, but we’ll always consider a great story idea from a newbie. Take a look at the section, and send us your idea.

Blog for us: Looking to break into travel, outdoor or food writing? We love short, first person narratives about places to go and things to do for our Oregon “Trip Ideas” section. What’s your favorite Oregon memory, outdoor exploit, off-the-beaten-path experience, restaurant or insider tip? We’d love you to write regularly and send us photos too. Check out Trip Ideas for examples.

Become an “Ask Oregon” expert: Unleash your inner know-it-all. Our Ask Oregon experts are ambassadors to the Beaver State. They answer questions about fishing, bicycling, beer, wine, golf and the state’s regions and cities. Check out our Ask Oregon section and see what voice you can add to the conversation.

Photography:  We are always looking for editorial photographers for Seasonal Features and the annual Travel Oregon Visitor Guide. Want to shoot for us or submit stock photography? Please send us a link to your website or stock library for consideration.

Spend some time on TravelOregon.com, and get a feel for our tone and style.  Send your comments, questions and big ideas to e-editor@traveloregon.com, and thanks for your interest!
