Wallowa

Show more info about Wallowa

Perched on the banks of the river for which it is named, Wallowa is one of many charming outposts along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway. The doorstep of the Wallowa Mountains is the historic home of the Nez Perce tribe, celebrated each year at the Tamkaliks Powwow, and the Maxville Heritage Interpretive Center, preserving the history of an early 20th-century African American logging town.

Eastern Oregon

Wallowa is located in Eastern Oregon, where miles of scenic byways, alpine wilderness, working cattle ranches and basalt canyons are still the place for explorers to make their mark.

Nearby cities are: Lostine, Enterprise, Joseph, and Elgin.
