Straddling the historic Oregon Trail, North Powder has a long history of serving travelers. Get off the freeway here and explore the back roads, where two-lane highways dip and wind through rolling hills, farms and sprawling ranches. The tiny town is surrounded by opportunities for hiking, camping, fishing, wildlife viewing, and touring on the Grande Tour Scenic Bikeway. The nearby Anthony Lakes Ski Area is famous for powder and short lift lines in winter and some of the area’s most scenic hiking trails in summer.
