Boardman
Just about anything you find on TravelOregon.com can be added to your own personal Trip Planner. Find out how.
Located on the Columbia River, Boardman was founded in 1903 by Samuel H. Boardman, who helped irrigate the area, laying the groundwork for Eastern Oregon agriculture. Irrigated agriculture continues to expand in the area’s farmlands. Potatoes, onions, mint, dairy, hay, and hybrid poplar trees now complement the traditional grain crops. Also, the area’s dairies help produce 55 million pounds of cheese annually for Tillamook Creamery Association. Boardman’s marina park with boat launch and RV campground, parks and a golf course provide recreational opportunities. Fishing, hunting, birding and water sports are popular pastimes.
