The Camp Sherman and Metolius Recreation Area of Central Oregon, about 31 miles northwest of Bend, has incredible fly-fishing on the pristine waters of the Metolius River, great camping, hiking, mountain biking and wildlife viewing. Don’t miss the commanding view of 10,497-foot Mt. Jefferson from the public observation area. Stop at the Wizard Falls Fish Hatchery, open every day and free to the public, where you will find trout, kokanee and Atlantic salmon—all part of the 3 million fish on display.
