Returning to the Balch by popular demand, Rich Swanger is a Salem, Oregon-based songwriter with roots in folk, gospel, and country-blues.
Born in the Appalachian hills of Pennsylvania, he found harmony in church choirs and learned the sounds of classic country from his father before moving to the Pacific Northwest in 2004. Rich has won the Portland Folk Festival songwriting contest, released four full-length albums, and plays regularly around the Pacific Northwest as a solo artist and with his group, The Little Known Band.
