Downtown Beaverton invites everyone to join The First Friday Art Walk, a monthly celebration of local art and artists. Visitors can enjoy a variety of artworks, such as paintings, sculptures, and mixed media, from different galleries and venues. The event is free and family-friendly. Visitors can also explore downtown at their own pace and find new places to shop, eat, and have fun. The First Friday Art Walk is a great way to support the local community and discover the artistic and cultural diversity of Downtown Beaverton.

The Patricia Reser Center for the Arts in partnership with The City of Beaverton/Beaverton Arts Program is pleased to announce a new public art installation, Across Oceans by Portland artist Kanani Miyamoto. Featuring beautiful imagery that will wrap the east and south windows of The Reser and connect to the Beaverton Building at City Hall, guests and visitors will enjoy a yearlong large-scale installation of the artist’s work.

The public is invited to join the festivities and celebrate the first ever large-scale ‘printstallation’, Across Oceans by artist Kanani Miyamoto. Participants are encouraged to meet the artist, view the work, and see the materials and woodblocks used to create the masterpiece. Across Oceans is made up of hundreds of hand-carved, cut and pulled prints.

Guests can explore The Reser campus and the entrance of Beaverton’s City Hall during the First Friday Art Walk on Friday, May 3rd from 6 – 9 pm. Kanani’s work will adorn the buildings through May of 2025. Event is FREE and open to the public.
