Went back to Patty Green with some friends. We made a reservation a couple of days in advance. Wonderful tasting experience, sitting on the back patio overlooking the vineyard. The person who conducted our tasting was super friendly, really knowledgeable, and funny. Pinot noir is the specialty here, and it was cool to taste a variety of single vineyard pinot noirs, tasting the differences (sometimes stark!) between them. There were a couple of other great wines, too, including a delightful rose. A great experience.
Tasted on a Thursday morning. Lovely setting on the back deck, with a beautiful view of the gardens and the vineyards. Tasting covered a lovely range of the wines, moving from light pinot noirs to some heftier ones. The woman who led our tasting was extraordinarily talkative and obviously proud of what the winery is producing; we enjoyed hearing more about each wine, from where the fruit for the wine was sourced, etc. The wines are of high quality—some of our favorites in the area. We left with a few bottles! They also will ship wines, waiting until the weather supports shipping the wines without affecting their quality. Overall, a lovely visit.
The pinots ranged from light and relaxed and graduated up a few steps from there, but not as robust and wide ranging tannins/structure/fruit portfolio as neighboring vineyards. Nice charcuterie board. Gracious hostess and sampling. Tasting on a Thursday, not crowded and relaxed. Stopped by Saturday and Sunday for more bottle purchases, was very busy including @ 10:30 AM, thus mandatory reservations. We left with 2 cases of the light and relaxed with impressive structure with a hint of vanilla (the Corrine Wadesville), which was the best of the visit in this category for us. You most likely will find a winner for you !
I first tasted PGC wines more than a decade ago, and decided that this was a winery I wanted to visit when I had the opportunity to travel to the Portland area. It did not disappoint! Though I was traveling solo, and I’m not a member of the winery’s club (assuming it has one), I was treated like a VIP. I really enjoyed the tasting, the setting, and the fantastic service. Ryan was a terrific host and the experience was well-worth the time and drive!
Just amazing!! The tasting room is set on a beautiful property with the patio/deck overlooking their fields. Please note tasting is by reservation only. It's a small tasting room so def. plan ahead. All of their wines are great and the pinot noir even better. They do not have food except for a few snacks which can be used as a palate cleanser but def. plan on eating before or after - they also do not allow outside food. If you are looking at any of the valley vineyards, def put this as one of the top on your list.
