Chris James Cellars is a family owned and operated vineyard and winery that produces unique and interesting wines in Carlton, Oregon. The vineyard was planted in 2012, with additional blocks planted in each year since. In 2015 they produced their first lots of Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc and have since expanded their wine selection to offer hand-crafted lots of Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Dolcetto, Lagrein and more. They now have two amazing tasting rooms to visit.

A must-include destination on your wine country tour!
Chris James Cellars’ tasting room on 3rd Street in McMinnville is such a great place to hang out - with people or solo! It is such an inviting space, made even more so by the warm, knowledgeable staff who immediately make you feel welcome and ensure that you have whatever you need from them. I consistently recommend this space for socializing, business events, Trivia Night(!), or just quality time with a friend because it is a standout; it’s beautiful, comfortable, and the kind of place where you feel like more than just a customer.

Parked the RV next to the vineyard overnight.
A very special place to be able to park the RV for the night. We did wine tasting the evening before and hung out on the beautiful patio in the morning with our own breakfast. Cool place as an alternative to an RV park.

Awesome Winery
What a wonderful winery. Incredible views, delicious wines, and a great tasting experience led by Drew. Also, had an amazing charcuterie board.

The best in WV
We love this small, family owned winery with a big selection of big reds! Chris has turned us into white wine drinkers, too. Just wonderful so many truly wonderful wines, delicious snacks, and knowledgeable wine slingers. We have done a lot of wine tasting in the Willamette Valley since we live here, but this is the only winery we have joined.

Chris James Cellars, great wines!
Plan to spend some time at this amazing vineyard tasting room. Maybe stop in Carlton on your way through for a picnic lunch. There is so many interesting & delicious wines you will want to try them all I am hooked on all of their yummy, complex whites but an amazing offering for you red lovers also.
