Never on a Monday
We had an unfortunate and expensive dining experience. The service by Cedric, and ambiance were nice, but not so the food. The highlights were the dressing on the lettuce that came with the overpriced, two SMALL crab cakes ($20.00). The crab cakes were BLAND. The pot de creme ($10.00) was delightful. A suggestion is get the food out when it is hot. After our dinner we were told that Monday is the regular Chefs night off. Wish I could leave a complimentary review as they were highly recommended.

We will miss the Bistro menu
We were frequent customers of the bistro. Sadly the new owners have done away with the entire Bistro menu. We will miss the Jacksonville Inn. We are local residents of Jacksonville and were frequent customers of the Jacksonville Inn Bistro throughout the year.

Old-world charm and service, right here in Southern Oregon
We usually dine in the Bistro section downstairs (also recommended) but decided to have a finer-dining experience with some dear friends. The restaurant underwent an ownership and management change recently, so we were curious to see how it was working out. The food, ambience and service were great! The new manager (and part owner?) stopped by to visit with us, which was very nice. We had a great experience.

'Fine' dining - not so
Just want all to know how disappointed and dismayed I was by my first visit to your restaurant (Friday, 4 March 2022). I ordered the Citrus Salmon dinner entrée and at $37.95 had high expectations. The salad was good, the entrée a disaster. 1) the salmon portion was very small and nearly invisible on presentation, 2) the garlic mashed potato by contrast was immense, filled ¼ of the plate and hid some of the salmon, 3) in addition, the potato was tepid and firm, not warm and fluffy, seemed to have been recycled(?), 4) after a nice salad, I was surprised at the abundance of greens and veggies that came with the entrée. They covered ½ the plate and also hid some of the small amount of salmon. In short, on presentation it appeared that I ordered potatoes and greens with a garnish of salmon. I thought the citrus salmon entrée would visually feature, forefront or highlight the salmon; it did not. The salmon was hard to find (small), thin & dry, and for this disappointment I was charged $37.95. First impressions are lasting ones and it’ll be hard for me to suppress this disappointing experience. My friends and out of town visitors will be hearing about my excitement and anticipation of an evening at Jacksonville Inn Restaurant, but also about deflating and disappointing reality of my experience that evening.

Magical evening!
We had a lovely evening at The Inn! We had previously had a poor experience a couple of years ago, but decided we needed to give it another chance...and had the great fortune to have Joel as our server. He MORE than made up for our past experience!! He was delightful, interesting and attentive, without being overbearing. Single handedly, he saved our former opinion! We had the lightly breaded sole...and it was, indeed, just that. Delicate, delicious and most welcome! We will definitely visit again...and ask for Joel!!!
