One of the 25 largest museums in the country, the Portland Art Museum showcases impressive touring exhibitions and permanent collections of American, European, Asian, Native American, and contemporary art. With over 35,000 works of art, it is the region’s most comprehensive visual arts resource.
Lovely museum, well worth a visit!
A surprising range of art styles on display, from traditional and classical to more modern with some really nice individual pieces. Also an entire gallery dedicated to artefacts and artwork from indigenous cultures across the United States which was fascinating! Definitely worth having a look if you're in Portland!
Over-priced for what it is
40 year Portlanders...we have stopped going because of outrageous pricing and mediocre offerings. Try the wonderful smaller Hallie Ford Museum in Salem instead.
Nice art museum
Enjoyed our trip to the Museum, diverse mixture of art, 4 floors, not too much but plenty to see, don't miss the top floor with the reclaimed wood sculptures!
We did this on a whim during a RAINY day. Was very pleasantly surprised as I did not see a lot of reviews about the museum. Really enjoyed their permanent collection and other. Well laid out as well.
Frida Kahlo Exhibition
The Frida Kahlo exhibition is well-done. I enjoyed the art and the photography - the exhibition is well-curated. Recommend seeing it.
