The Sentinel hotel is a lovely, comfortable hotel in downtown Portland. The preservation of the original architecture mixed with modern luxuries is perfect. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable, the work & conference space was nice and the food was very good.

A pleasant surprise with excellent hospitality in downtown Portland
We were pleasantly surprised not only with the boutique feel of the hotel, but also with the consistently high level of customer service and friendliness – very uncommon these days. It started with our late night arrival and reading by the friendly night manager (Elmer) who did everything possible to make a late arrival pleasant. The historic opulence of the lobby was a pleasant welcome every time we returned. Highly recommend.

Charming hotel, friendly team
We really enjoyed the king parlor suite. Lots of room and natural light. Plus everyone who works here is delightful and helpful. The hotel decor is charming. I especially loved the boxing bag in the safe of the converted gym. I like the convenience of the tea and coffee in the lobby. I would have preferred some ceiling lights with light switches but the lamps were fine.
