Worst experience

Worst experience. We booked the reservation through Capital One Travel portal for one night. Capital One Travel portal advertised the list of amentias like Spa, massage, breakfast etc. included as part of the reservation. But we got to know at the check-in counter that hotel does not offer any of these. We were so disappointed to hear that. On top of that Hotel charged us $201 for water, drinks, mini bar items for using them. Hotel staff did not disclose about these charges at check-in time nor they shared about these charges through email beforehand.

Worst hotel experience ever. Hotel staff is inexperienced and my car was vandalized! Stay away from Sentinel.

When I booked this hotel it was advertised as 5 star but there is nothing 5 start about this place. Check-in: On arrival the bellhop was great but the guy at the front desk was rude. Bellhop asked the guy at the front desk politely what room I was in so he can take our bags up. The front desk was on a power trip. He refused to give the room number, left in the middle of check out and made the bellhop wait holding our bags. Very awkward exchange and turns out that the valet and bellhop worked for a 3rd party company. Room: Building is old and you could tell by the elevators, hallway and rooms. Rooms were small but nicely furnished. Room Service: The hotel advertised room service so I called multiple times to order but no one picked up so I went downstairs. Front Desk says only thing available is grilled cheese! I was hungry so I ordered it and went back to my room. I find out 45min later they're out of food! I ended up having to DoorDash. To make matters worse, when I went down to get my food I had a confrontation with some drunk guy at the bar in the lobby (adjacent lobby bar turns into a club night). Check-out: I thought things couldn't get worse but it did. I went to get my car from valet and my car was vandalized!!!! Hotel claimed no fault, only offered me to reimburse parking (which they never did) and never apologized. Do yourself a favor and never stay at the Sentinel. I should've stayed at the Nines like usual.

Comfortable and Relaxing Stay

My recent stay at the Sentinel Hotel was excellent. The staff, especially the valet team, were consistently friendly and efficient, making every interaction pleasant. The room comfort was a standout feature - the bed was extremely comfortable, and the white noise machine was a thoughtful addition that ensured a good night's sleep. The hot shower and the in-room fireplace were perfect for relaxation. Overall, a great experience marked by professional service and excellent amenities. Can't wait to visit Portland and the Sentinel again.

Lovely hotel

Lovely hotel, interior decor is amazing and room was spotlessly clean. The room itself was slightly on the small side and could benefit from some space next to the sink for toiletries. Mine were on the floor. We had a room on a high floor with a terrace which again was lovely and access to a lounge with snacks. The drinks cabinet was empty though a couple of times we went in. Just minor points and I would happily stay here again
