Great experience at this hotel. Very clean and spacious room and bathroom. Hotel floor was quiet and we enjoyed the rooftop area several times during our 2 day stay. Staff very friendly and. helpful. Breakfast was very good with nice variety. Also provided a "snack bag" on your way out if you missed breakfast. Great location as well for walkability. Will definitely stay here again when in Portland.

An Oasis in a Cesspool
Overall an oasis in a cesspool. I'm from Seattle and they are doing a great job of cleaning up the city, sadly Portland is going the opposite way. Even much worse than when I was down here last summer. This hotel shines bright if you need to come to downtown Portland with its large reception area, large breakfast area, and secure rooms. A security guard was even stationed in the lobby to keep the rift-raft out. Front desk was very pleasant, rooms were sound proof and clean. My only (very minor) gripe was that my Hilton app didn't allow me to pick my own room like it usually does. Not sure why. If you have to drive I would stay someplace else outside of downtown and take the Max train in. The $48 a night is steep. That's what I will do next year.

Fabulous and friendly hotel in Portland
We chose this hotel for its location and price and were more than satisfied- in fact really happy with our stay overall and would stay again in a heartbeat! Comfortable, clean, well appointed rooms, friendly staff, convenient location, and bonus- it's walking distance to Powell's City of Books!!

Highly positive experience
All positive here, including room, location and bonus breakfast. Staff all helpful and trained to a level to solve issues and answer questions. At check in, late at night and after long travels, I was kept waiting for what seemed like a long time. Although this can be irritating, I could not help overhearing the receptionist patiently taking a very protracted enquiry from a needy future guest. It was her supreme decorum and attention to this potential client, who was only making a booking, that won me over that this hotel is really good and respects everyone.

A great choice in the Pearl District
We were blown away by this Hampton Inn, after staying for three nights. From the helpful staff at the front desk to the rooftop patio and resort style pool, we were glad we reserved our room here. A call out to Matai, who went out of his way to be helpful. We had an issue with a dryer and he showed up with quarters to ensure we could finish a load. He marked a map with safe places to walk. This is not to discount other front desk staff. They were all great. Breakfast was hectic but they kept it stocked. It was everything one would expect from a Hampton. A nice bonus for this hotel was its proximity to a great grocery next door, which had delicious prepared foods. It's within easy walking distance to Powell's Books and a new favorite, Wailea Shave Ice. Yes, parking is expensive, BUT.. the room price was the most reasonable on our 3 week trip through the pacific northwest EVEN if you included the parking.
