Nice Stay, but No Late Checkout
The AC Hotel in Lake Oswego, Portland, is a good choice. It has a perfect location, recently updated rooms, and Titanium Elites receive a daily $10 voucher. The only downside was that the hotel was understaffed, so I couldn’t get a late checkout. I was really counting on this Marriott benefit, especially since I had a late flight at 6 PM, but I had to check out strictly at 12 PM.

AC for the win!
Very nicely renovated hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. We had a room with a balcony but honestly the balcony was tiny and a bit dirty so we didn't really use it. All the employees we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Fitness center is clean and nice but lacking in weight equipment, would have liked to see more weight machines. They did have a bench with free weights. Pool area is nice, all new pool furniture. Pool was a bit cold according to my daughter however. My favorite feature of the hotel was the open atrium architecture, as they don't build hotels like this much anymore so they are becoming harder and harder to find with updated facilities. Location is good right off I-5 less than 30 minutes from downtown Portland but close to a lot of shopping and dining.

Safe, secure and friendly
Not a new place, but well maintained with a clean lobby and nice layout. My granddaughter loved the indoor/outdoor pool and the glass elevator. Located in a shaded area with free parking that felt really secure. Very close by chain eateries like Starbucks, Mod Pizza, etc. Front desk staff were professional, friendly and very helpful. We got in late, and they helped us find nearby, kid-friendly food. We were just overnight, but it’s just off the I-5 freeway with nearby shopping.

Pleasant Stay
Older, but recently updated hotel with very easy freeway access. Rooms were clean and designed well. Loved the lobby/lounge area and being able to just relax. Multiple restaurants within walking distance. Decent parking. Unique pool area that is both indoor and outdoor. Staff appear a bit disgruntled if around each other (gossiping about management and pay) but very attentive to guests when no other employees around.

Modern, minimalist hotel that has some big design flaws and noticeably cuts corners.
The hotel is attractive and clean, but often impractical. My room had no closet orplace to hang up clothes, and the flat, rectangular sink was 3 inches deep and didn't drain well . The hotel cuts costs on almost everything, including kleenex and toilet paper so thin you have to triple to use.The towels and blankets are thin.
