The Mark Spencer Hotel feels European - it's stylish and full of character. Our room was huge, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. Everything was spotless, and the beds were some of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. We loved the complimentary wine hour on the rooftop with a live musician, which made our stay even more special. The location couldn’t be better, right near Powell’s Books and surrounded by great restaurants within walking distance. There’s even an open parking lot that worked perfectly for our travel van. We felt very safe and the area is lovely. Every room includes a refrigerator & the kitchenette added convenience to our stay. It’s very affordable for everything it offers. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend The Mark Spencer Hotel.

Beautiful comfortable stay central Portland downtown Pearl District
We really enjoyed our stay here at the Mark Spencer hotel Portland, Oregon October 1st had nice lighting in the bed was very comfortable. It had full kitchen amenities, including a refrigerator a microwave room to cook and prepare food. The staff was very nice and easily reachable. There was always tons of parking, especially if you get the scratch off Which allows you to park at any of the PBOT spots always available. They had coffee and tea available 24 seven the room had a living room area with two large TVs. The space was quiet and peaceful would highly recommend the towels were comfortable. The bedding and pillows were also very nice and clean and beautiful.

Wonderful stay!
Fabulous stay. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The bed was so comfortable. Clean room. Loved the location. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Great stay at Mark Spencer Hotel
This lovely boutique hotel in downtown Portland was perfect for my family visit. Check-in was simple (temp parking right up front) and the staff was very polite and helpful. Great location, clean and beautiful room, exceptional service. The parking garage is convenient (extra charge $32), seemed very safe, and is just around the corner from the hotel (connected inside). Also- checkout is at NOON!! I was able to catch up on some extra sleep before heading to see some waterfalls. We had a room with a kitchenette so we made some breakfast on the stovetop before heading out. Great coffee provided. Thanks for a great stay MSH staff. 10/10 P.S. Sorry I didn’t get better photos aside from the entrance. It was quiet, clean, and I felt very safe walking around the area.

Unforgettable Hospitality and Charm in the Heart of Portland
Review for The Mark Spencer Hotel – Portland, OR I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Mark Spencer Hotel! From the moment I arrived, Manager Alex and team members Anthony and Harrison went above and beyond to make my experience feel special and personal. Their warm hospitality truly set the tone for my trip. The hotel’s location is unbeatable—just steps away from great restaurants, shops, and attractions, which made exploring Portland so easy and enjoyable. While the in-room televisions felt a bit outdated and the lack of a fully functioning café was a minor drawback, these details were far outweighed by the hotel’s charm. In fact, I’d love to see the hotel partner with one of Portland’s many excellent local cafés for a pop-up or permanent offering—it would be such a perfect fit for the community vibe the hotel already has. What really made my stay memorable were the thoughtful touches like daily wine tastings and the Friday night live music, which created such a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. Honestly, my favorite part of the trip was simply being at the hotel itself. Between the welcoming staff, unique amenities, and prime location, The Mark Spencer Hotel made my Portland visit unforgettable. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city!
