Tualatin

Maybe Tualatin took inspiration from the Oregon Trail, the epochal pioneer route that ended just 10 miles east of here in Oregon City.

A web of trails stitches through this town 20 minutes southwest of Portland, linking downtown businesses and leading off into more than 200 acres of parks and green spaces, including the Lake of the Commons in downtown Tualatin. Don’t miss the annual Tualatin Crawfish Festival, the nation’s oldest crawfish celebration (much to the chagrin of one Louisiana resident, who in 1976 placed a voodoo curse — unsuccessfully — on the event).
