Civic Park is Eugene’s premier sports and recreation destination, designed to bring the community together through dynamic programs, events, and activities. Completed in August 2022, the $30 million Phase I capital campaign—featuring the Kidsports Fieldhouse and Market of Choice Field—was a monumental achievement made possible by the generosity of donors. Fully funded and debt-free, Civic Park now stands as a cornerstone of the community, providing top-tier facilities for youth sports, community events, and recreation.
The Kidsports Fieldhouse is a flexible indoor facility that serves as the heart of the park’s operations. With four hardwood multi-purpose courts, two outdoor courts, elevated seating, and dedicated meeting and event spaces, it supports a wide range of sports and activities. The fieldhouse is also the new home for Kidsports, enabling the organization to expand its youth programming while introducing opportunities for people of all ages.
The Market of Choice Field, a FIFA regulation-size synthetic turf field, hosts games, tournaments, and events year-round. Designed with flexibility in mind, the field supports a variety of sports, including soccer, football, ultimate Frisbee, lacrosse, rugby, and more. Future plans for Phase II include a 2,500-seat grandstand, additional restrooms, a food court, a broadcast booth, and a digital scoreboard, further elevating Civic Park’s capacity to host premier events.
Since opening in June 2020, Civic Park has welcomed over 115,000 visitors and hosted countless activities, from youth sports leagues to community fundraising events and collegiate soccer games. Thanks to the dedication of donors and supporters, Civic Park continues to shape lives and foster connections, enhancing the physical, social, and emotional well-being of Eugene’s residents.
