What will you find at Lost Tracks Golf Club? A perfect Central Oregon rolling terrain fashioned into beautiful golf holes by designer Brian Whitcomb. With 7,000 yards of breathtaking views and challenging golf shots, Lost Tracks Golf Club defines the word golf. While Lost Tracks is located near the city of Bend, Oregon, it has the feeling of quiet seclusion. The golf course is bordered by national forest land and carved out of a stand of Ponderosa and high desert pine trees with lava rock outcroppings, dotted with sparkling lakes and seaside sand-filled bunkers. Laid out on a softly rolling terrain, the old-style design, without the long walks between greens and tees, invites the golfer to walk the meticulously groomed and maintained fairways. Lost Tracks demands the game of golf be played the way it was meant to be played by the game's founders hundreds of years ago.

Lovely public golf course with forgiving layout for us average golfers
Our group of 8 was able to secure two tee times in the mid afternoon (called in morning on a Thursday), thought that was lucky for a gorgeous sunny spring day in Bend, OR. It was easy to find the court. Good infrastructure: lots of parking. Golf carts, club house, golf shop, food for ordering. A driving range, practice green, and chipping area. We found the course to be nicely maintained. Many elevated tee blocks. Several water features and sand trap to elevate and challenge your skills. They have "dynamic pricing", so if you can, play mid week. We did not encounter homeless people mentioned by other reviewers and did not find trash littered on the course at all. The only area for improvement: the greens were pretty bumpy and beat up. Could be the season we are in. Overall, this is a lovely golf course and very affordable!

1 star out of 10
The course is not well maintained, it's pretty much run down and homeless people are living in the woods in which all their trash is dumped around the course. There have also been incidents of violence on the course.

Nice course. Tacky credit card fee.
This is a mid to top tier course for the Bend area. Greens were in good shape and rolled well except for areas with animal damage (deer hoof print) and some burned out areas. While they rolled fast and true they were relatively soft making it easy to hold the green on high shots. Low runners weren’t quite the same. Most greens had undulations so familiarity will help with reading. The fairway condition was mediocre with many burned out and damaged areas. They were cut a good length; not to short. Trees and rough were reasonable, so hitting off the fairway is manageable except for the worst shots. The sand was a bit packed requiring a good splash to get out. The layout is dominated by doglegs. About 12-13 doglegs. You really need to pay attention to the GPS yardages. The first time I played, no GPS and I was really pissed off as I had little knowledge or information. A rangefinder is nearly useless. You need to see the hole. The course plays fair without huge penalties for errant shots. The slope and rating are about right. The course is at 3300 ft elevation so it’s about 1/2 club on most shots. My one gripe. They charge 3% credit card fee. That is extremely tacky. I would give it four stars, but the card fee is a turn off for a $90 round of golf.

Needs Marshals
The course was good for a pubic, municipal style course. The warmup range was marginal, limited signage for distance. Many of the holes had blind tee shots, requiring a cart be left visible to avoid being hit into by the group behind. The pace of play was poor. We were behind a foursome, possibly fivesome that held everyone up. It appeared a father had his son "playing" from mid fairway and allowing him to chip and putt. Everyone playing in the afternoon was held up by the father and son in the group, three golf carts were in the group. The father was teaching him bad habits and how to violate USGA rule 1.2.

Terrible.
Course was in terrible shape for June 1. Also paid $177 for my wife and I for 18 holes, cart and bucket of balls. Will never let a friend go here. Pay 20-30 bucks more and go to one of the top courses
