I wanted to stop at one of the local bookstores to see what I could find. From the second I walked into the store, I felt very welcome. It is a very small store, but there is a quality selection of books. Some of the books I've heard seen anywhere else. I was able to have a good conversation with the owner who is an Astoria local. I am a huge fan of small businesses.
Nice book collection but very little of it. What I asked for help at the counter, I was told they didn’t have what I was looking for. Not surprised. Customer service isn’t a strong point at this store.
During my las visit to Astoria I made sure to include some time to visit Lucy's Books.IT was well worth the time. It's a small shop but has high quality and a nice variety of titles and subjects. It's in a very cool part of downtown Astoria and is also on the blocks that are used for Sunday Market. Don't pass up the chance to at least visit. I ended up buying several books.
We wandered into this adorable bookstore while visiting Astoria. The shop was friendly, organized, and charming. The lady at the counter checked in on us several times and seemed friendly. The shop had a good selection for books for adults and children. The whole place made me smile (I really like books !)
I love an independent bookshop and Lucy's Books did not disappoint. Although the shop is tiny in size it is large in what it has to offer. Along with usual bestsellers, there was a huge selection of young reader books and I found new titles for my grandson. Service was friendly and helpful when I asked about selections. I loved the cozy feel of the shop and discovering books and treasures around every corner. Unexpected bonus: 20% early holiday preview discount.
