Independence celebrates the 4th of July for three days and offers a busy schedule. Riverview Park revelry features live music, concerts, performances, and vendors offering delicious foods.
One of the highlights is a Grand Parade, stretching from Western Oregon University in Monmouth to Riverview Park in Independence, and a rubber ducky derby on the Willamette River.
Still, the best part of the celebration is always dramatic fireworks displays, scheduled for 10 p.m. The fireworks are held over the Willamette River on July 3 within a Hometown Celebration and July 4 within the Independence Days Celebration.
Overall festivities start at 4 p.m. and end at 11 p.m. The entry wristband is $2.
