Terribly cheap and unprofessional management. It's a toss up if you will receive your order within an hour. Multiple occurrences when food was not properly prepared or order was lost

I like Skout for their fish and chips, which are better than most places. It is an open air place, so if the weather is nice you can seat yourself next to beautiful Lithia Creek and enjoy its sight and sound. Alternatively, if you must sit inside, you are subjected to very high-volume music, the offering of which may be torturous, e.g., suburban mall gangsta. Like a suburban mall, children may be running riot. It is dog-friendly, and unhappy dogs may be crying and desperately struggling to get away from the music and the picnic tables under which they are trapped. In either case, their adults are blissfully ignoring them while they may freely do so and enjoy their beers. Sometimes the food makes it to your table hot, sometimes not. Last evening mine made a tour of the outside tables first, and when it re-emerged the fries had lost all warmth. There is no table service, and you are expected to bus yours. No refills on the $4 iced tea.
Skout is a welcome addition to the Ashland dining scene. While Louie's down the street always has a good burger or dinner salad, Skout provides another option for a quick, lighter meal. I had the brisket hot "sandwich" which came with their lovely hand cut, kettle cook style fries. Price was fair and the service fast. You order at the counter and then are given a number and a runner brings you your meal. Lots of families, friends having beers and a few people like us who weren't able to squeeze in sitdown meal before our play. Service was efficient and our meals came in a timely manner. We were a little behind the normal dinner hour, we sat down at 6:40, which probably helped as we missed the dinner rush. The decor is whimsical and clever - the airstream camping vibe inside and picnic tables outside along the creek. Give it a try if you are looking for a casual meal in a fun environment.
