I had heard so many good things about this legendary place and looked forward to it. But the steak I ordered was stringy raw and I had ordered medium. It was not close to being cooked. I'm disappointed that I didn't get to enjoy one of the great steaks that I had heard about.
Love the neon signs outside, the memorabilia and reading the history of Omar's. The main dining room as great ambiance with red leather booth seating. The service is top-notch. The menu is however confusing. On one page, casual food such as burgers and sandwiches and on the other, steaks and seafood fare. We were disappointed that the patty melt and hamburger were not available. A comment about the brussel sprouts appetizer - it would feed a family of five. The chef offered some interesting specials which included crab cake sliders and the presentation of all the entrees was above average.
We are out of the area and dined there for 2 nights. The food was horrible, I think the baked potato had sat out for a few hours and I told the server, she did not care and said she would tell the chef. The steak was way too salty! Next visit the steak was over done and had no sauce on it again food was cold this time mashed potatoes. Now the real problem for 2 nights dining we were charge supplement fees, non taxed fees and food tax, total for 2 nights for all these fees was $37.25. Sickening. I have never seen this thype of fees and I live in California. Don't go unless you like paying for nothing.
If you like awesome food, friendly staff, and a great environment, go to Omar’s!! I had steaks and some refreshments. I love it at Omar’s.
Omar's a very cool old school steak house! If you want to feel like your grandparents felt when they enjoyed a night out for a steak dinner Omar's is the place to be! We try to go every time we in Ashland. ON weekends call ahead for a reservation!
