Rude, Dismissive and Abrupt.
My wife and I stopped by on a Wednesday for lunch. No where online or at the establishment did it say reservations required. Plenty of empty seats outside so we stepped in. No hostess or server or sign. We stood there for a moment and a staff member whisked by and stopped abruptly. Asked us “what we wanted”. We said two for lunch. She asked if we had a reservation and we said no. She turned and walked away and said over her shoulder that they were full and not taking anymore customers. In a very rude and dismissive tone. Maybe some think I’ll manners delivered with an English accent charming. But when it is directed at my wife who loves all things English and had us drive an hour to have some tea it’s just boorish and rude. Been there years ago and thought the food dry and over priced but wanted to make her happy and tried again. There must be other places to get tea that doesn’t come with an order of pretentious dismissive behavior.

The tea is wonderful, but the food is just as tasty!
Planned our drive along the coast so we could arrive in time for tea before they closed. Enjoyed a lovely pot of tea, but also can highly recommend the scones and clotted cream. We ordered ala carte, knowing that low tea or high tea would be too much food. There is a new owner, but she was just as friendly as the previous owner. We loved the personal attention and friendliness of the servers here.

Loved all of it!
What a fun place! Had a lovely pot of the queen's tea, along with a fresh and hot scone made of apricot and white chocolate (OH MY). The clotted cream and lemon tart that accompanied the scone were amazing. Bought loose leaf tea to take home, too! Delicious treats, accompanied by tasty cream and jam. Definitely plan to return - maybe even tomorrow. It was that good!

There is a reason the place is up for sale!
I am a Brit. We bought some frozen Cornish Pasties to go. Firstly, these should have mince, potatoes and carrots in them. Instead, only over-peppered ground beef in pastry? No wonder the place is up for sale! Shameful.

Loved all of it!
What a fun place! Drove by on a Tuesday and realized that their tearoom was open even though the restaurant was closed. Had a lovely pot of the queen's tea, along with a scone and petit four. Delicious treats, accompanied by tasty cream and jam. Definitely plan to return - maybe even tomorrow. It was that good!
