Small servings
We arrived around 8:15 and were told they were getting ready to close so we could only sit at the bar or a specific table at the back of the restaurant. We had no issues with that so we sat down. We ordered the sizzling seafood dinner and spring rolls. The waiter was polite but not attentive. Never came back to even check if we needed more water or anything else. The spring roll were thin and overcooked, almost soaked in oil. The seafood dinner was tasty but a small portion. I still felt hungry after my meal which is rarely the case as I don’t eat huge portions.

Looks deserted
The place is closed. Doesn't look like it will open again. The place looks deserted. Drove there. On line it says it's open but there is no one there.

Best Thai! Maybe better than that found in Thailand.
My wife and I are regulars at Khun Thai, and we want every lover of Thai food, whether local or passers-bye that this is the best short of going to Thailand. (Not that we've been there.) I've done a broad survey of the menu and loved almost everything I've ordered. Shrimp Tempura or Crab Puffs is a great way to start. We've had every Wok Fried dish and recommend them all especially the Spicy Green Beans. We love the Gang Panang among the Curries. From the Specialty Menu, the Creamy Tom Yum, Honey Duck, and Mango Prawns are excellent. In my opinion the pork belly ought to be saved for bacon; and the noodles don't do much for me. You just need to know you own taste, and I'd predict that you can't miss. Three negatives, none relating to the food. 1 The wait staff is charming, but sometimes the meals being served to a group come out one at a time with a wait between being served. The problem I have with that is that I find it hard to be polite by waiting for everyone to be served. 2 The parking lot is in poor repair. And 3 it doesn't seem right to judge a restaurant by it bathrooms but they are kind of sketchy and might make you wonder.

One of our favorite restaurants in Brookings
We like this restaurant for its consistent good service and food. We ordered the Spicy Holy Basil Duck, Yellow Curry with Tofu, and the Tofu Spring Rolls. Cyrus is our favorite waiter but they are all friendly and courteous.
