The food, drinks and service are all excellent at Carruthers. We had a little glitch in our February reservation and Joseph made it right for us. Our favorite Astoria restaurant. We highly recommend.

Pleasant bar area
The bar area is a nice place to sit. It’s spacious and attractive. You can order food from there too. Service was attentive and friendly.

First of all we want Carruthers to succeed and we like Silver Salmon but last night our service was terrible. We had a 5:15 reservation but didnt get our main meal until 6:50. We had to eat quickly to get to 7:30 concert. We aren't sure what went wrong but everyone around us who came in after us, was served, finished, got doggy bags and left. Our waitress seemed attentive at first and then it seemed she had to bartend and didnt follow up. The food was fine but we had to stuff our meal and meal. Seemed like lots of staff was there so not sure what happened.

Great vibes for a special dinner
First of all, we were told this resultant was under new management. It is one of the coolest dining establishments we have been to. The vibe was just right, and where was the last time you heard Frank Sinatra and Andy Williams on the music selection? The service was first-rate, the martinis were delicious, and the Oso Busco was to die for. Not a big crowd tonight, probably y because of the weather, but I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially for a special couples' night out.
