We try to attend this park every year. Despite the negative reviews by some on here it is the closest you are going to get to wild animals. Not like a zoo where you have to look down into a pit about a block away from them. Most of these animals as babies were raised by some of the workers in their own home. Many of the big cats there now slept with their handlers in their beds. Bottles of food made at all hours of the day and night just like a child. So well taken care of. Nothing like some of the posts from the bleeding heart liberals reviews. Where else are you going to be able to get this close to real live wild animals? Up Close and Personal. Their enclosures and the park are constantly being cleaned and fresh water and food available. At one time I held a White Tiger in my arms and fed it some a bottle. Something warm and fuzzy I will rember my whole life. If you do not like seeing animals in enclosure maybe you should not go. But for those who have never been up close and personal with a Tiger or Leopard or a hillarious Chimpanzee Like Daphne she is so much fun. They are not frustrated with their enclosures. When she slaps the plywood loudly and starts laughing she is not angry she is having fun. Talk to her and she will give you raspberries with her tongue. I have never had the chance anywhere else to touch or pet Bears, Tigers, Deer, and save your comes the food comes in for the bear. If you hold the cone up you will get a wave from them for it. A lot of fun for kids and adults alike. If you want to get close and personal with Goats, Llamas, Deer and Donkeys. Walk in with two hands holding cups of food, you will get to know they animals walking around real soon and up really really close and personal. Lol
Felt guilty after for going here. Cruel conditions for animals. Disgusting environment for guest as well. Big cats and some of the bears are kept in small cages. My dog has a bigger yard and living space. Animals look stressed by screaming children and announcements that blare over a loud speaker to announce what baby animals are available every 20/30 min to pet. One younger bear was in a 8x10 in closed area running back and forth pouncing at the fencing towards people. We didn’t approach it was already stressed and made us sick and we wanted to leave after. Animals have no natural place to shelter or hide from guest. They are fully exposed, then can’t get away. Lioness looked like skin and bone. One brown bear did have a better habitat but still smaller than a regular zoo. Peacocks goats all over the place If you still decide to go, know that you will step in poop. No avoiding it. Wear farm boots. You are met immediately by deer and goats waiting to be fed. They wait at the entrance and follow you around regardless if you have a cup of food for them. Poop is everywhere. Smell is strong. Gift /ticket area is dusty dirty dingy. Skip it.
The park was clean and the animals looked to be taken care of. The goats, donkeys, deer and sheep were a treat and wanted to play. The lions and tigers were mostly out and lying around their enclosures were clean and they look healthy. The monkey was very entertaining. All in all a great treasure of the small animal parks its not a huge zoo with lots of space for the animals but well worth the stop.
I don't usually go to roadside zoos, but the name made me think this would be a nicer place than it was. They have a variety of animals, including big cats, bears, bison, elk, chimpanzees, tortoises, camels, swans & other birds. I wish they had bigger enclosures for these creatures. In particular, the chimpanzee was obviously angry in its small cage. Most of the cages are made of fencing and concrete without natural grass and dirt for the animals to walk on. They are not going to get healthy exercise here. There are farm animals and deer that roam freely (watch where you step) and can be fed. Be aware that goats can get aggressive when they think you have food. They may jump up on you or try to eat your clothes. Overall, this is a sad place. #disability #accessibility This is wheelchair compatible, but you might not want to roll through all the goat poop.
Sad and depressing if you have a soul and care for these animals you will leave in tears. The goats and sheep are ok for a small petting zoo but all the other animals are in small cages and bred for profits. There’s elk that are kept in an area about the size of an acre with no fresh vegetation there are bears and monkey in small enclosures it’s something you walk away from with a disgusting feeling I wish I never paid to see this it really hurts your heart
