Very private, very quiet, exceptional views!
I enjoyed my stay at the Good Bear Ranch. Not far from town but very private and peaceful. Slept very well!
Best Vacation Rental Ever
This is the most amazing vacation rental we have ever stayed in. It is so elegant, yet rustic and makes for the perfect vacation spot. There is much to do outside in all season such as hiking, snow shoeing, sledding and nearby skiing at Anthony lakes resort. The giant bathtub was also a favorite. We will definitely be returning.
Amazingly beautiful, peaceful family getaway.
This home is perfect for a retreat to get away and either reflex or spend quality time in a comfortable homey atmosphere. We enjoyed the hiking on the property, or just sitting and relaxing on the many patios to enjoy the awesome views and of course the amazing sunsets. Also the town is only a 20 minute drive with some adorable restaurants to choose from. I highly recommend this getaway to enjoy with family and friends.
Great Family Vacation Spot
Good Bear Ranch is luxury with the feel of a happy, family-friendly home. My sister and I, and our families, had an amazing family vacation at Good Bear in August 2017. There was something for everyone. My brother-in-law, who loves to cook had a gourmet kitchen. My sister and I had quiet places inside and out to read, play scrabble, and take in the gorgeous views of the Baker Valley, the Wallowa and Elkhorn mountains, and the resident elk herd. The kids had plenty of space to run around outside, after which they soaked in the jacuzzi bath tub, played pool, and lounged on the huge couch to watch movies, read books and play games. All of us also enjoyed hiking on the property. My husband almost made it to Goodrich Lake the former drinking water source for Baker City, high in the Elkhorn Mountains above the ranch. Our visit also included dinner in Baker City and a trip to the Oregon Trail Interpretative Center where in addition to learning about the trail, the kids played in covered wagons and made rag dolls. There was no downside to the visit. I highly recommend Good Bear.
Magical place to relax and unplug.
The evening was so nice I rolled out a river pad on the deck and slept under the stars. The amenities and comfort were outstanding but the location and views with the privacy a true feeling of a retreat. Great hiking areas but hanging out and relaxing with friends was a moment that time seemed to slow and everyone left renewed and refreshed. I personally can not wait to go back. I’d go back and work for my keep cutting wood or whatever just to enjoy being in this special place.
