Poorly maintained and random enforcement of rules
We had a FHU 50 amp back-in site. It was not level. Before arrival they sent us a text message saying we should go directly to our site, and check in once we were set up. The signage for sites is very poor, so we had to circle around to find our site. Maybe they don't want to take time to explain how to find your site, so they send the text message. As poor as the signage is, they need someone to escort you to your site. We saw many RVs circling to find their site while we were there. The site next to us was a pull-thru so our doors were opposite each other. Very little space between sites. If we sat outside, we were practically under the neighbors awning. The entry road and main roads are gravel and full of potholes. We understand this park is under new ownership and has raised the prices this year, but not made any improvements. Sites are gravel with dead grass and weeds. We were here a month and the weeds were getting very long without being trimmed. We did have a picnic table, but it was too nasty to sit at with pealing paint. The front section has many permanent, dilapidated trailers. They have rules, but seem to enforce them willy-nilly. On the weekends, the place was pretty full. Quiet time is supposed to be 10 pm, but there were young people making lots of noise at the playground until midnight. There is a scenic steam train ride available at the front of the park which runs several times a day with a very loud whistle. Rules regarding dogs on leash were also not enforced. They charge extra per night to park a boat or extra vehicle in the overflow parking lot, and also charge nightly for a fire ring. Enforcement of boat parking rules seemed random. There is a lot of potential for this to be a very nice park, but they need to improve their game a great deal. There is a nice little rocky beach area and the crabbing pier is nearby. Wi-Fi was decent during the week, but pretty useless on weekends. We would never stay here again!!

Not competitive
We enjoyed the Old Mill in years past even though it was about 20% more than most state and Tillamook county RV parks with their old and dated facilities such as bathrooms, showers, spacing of sites, etc. Last year some of the long-time employees told me the place had sold and they were worried about what was going to happen to it. They speculated nothing good. When we stayed this August we found the price had over doubled ( $80 a day on average ) without anything improved or changed except the camp-site place numbers had changed slightly. Some of the old employees have left. We showed up 90 minutes early and the "masters-owners" had directed them to charge us $15 for "early check in". It never used to be that way. If a site was vacant, and after check-out, then one could move right in, no worries. Not now. In fact, a tent site costs more than a full hook-up RV site at most other state or county RV parks. So, while the staff was very friendly, it's obvious the new owners are charging a tremendous fee to camp. It was briefly called a "resort" but no pool, no gym, no anything that typifies the "resort" name. Compare it to Seven Feathers south of Roseburg. One pays the same, about $80 a day, but all the pads are concrete and level, it has a gym, a pool, a hot tub, with modern, up-to-date, showers and bathrooms and great landscaping. Old Mill has bathrooms and showers that would remind one of 1968 or so and the landscaping is non-existent to a large degree except for some mowing. The Old Mill employees stated improvements and additions were coming but the consumer is generally NOT interested in "investing" in the new owners plan; it matters what they get right now. The staff were very friendly and gracious while struggling with the greedy fees. It's also near many convenient things such as Tillamook bay, marina, museum, etc., but it does not justify being robbed. We won't be back.

Old Mill RV park and event center
Nice RV park. Within walking distance to small downtown area, and marina. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I never worry about my safety and have never had a issue with things coming up missing. WiFi is good. Good restaurant within walking distance as well.. will stay there again. Also the train ride is well worth going on. The boarding station is right outside the RV park.
