Defintely would stay again!
Diana and Jim have updated the Lodge and it is delightful. The decor is updated, everything was spotless, and they are very accommodating to needs. We were a party of six bicycling through rural areas, and this was one of the best stays on our route. The TripAdvisor picture does not do it justice. You won't regret staying here.

Cozy stay
We stayed at the lodge to have our own space while visiting family. My GSD was welcomed in and everyone was so friendly. Clean rooms and comfy beds. The coffee and pastries in the morning were great!!

The Lodge at GRANITE, not Sumpter
First, the lodge is located in the semi ghost town of Granite, which is about 18 miles away from Sumpter. This is a lovely lodge that has been kept up well. It is not a cabin as one reviewer stated - it's a lodge with a number of rooms on two floors located on each side of the hallways. Each room has its own animal decor theme. The good news is that the rates aren't set by the size of the room; they're set by the number of guests. That means that if there is availability, a person or couple could stay in a room designed for 8 people if they wished. It was nice that snacks are available all day, and muffins and instant hot cereal are available in the morning. The on site manager, Tony, was the most helpful I have ever come across over the decades. The lodge was for sale as of September, 2016 so I only hope that new owners would keep him on. Be aware that the microwave is centrally located on the first floor. If a construction worker staying there long term (because it's the only facility available for miles and also a great value), uses it at 4:15 a.m., it's likely to wake you up if you're staying on that floor.

large motorcycle group
the lodge and personnel excided our expectations by far. The outside of the lodge is very rustic but don't let that sway your oppinion until you get inside. It is modern, clean, bright and very comfortable. Tony is very friendly , helpful, knowledgeable of the area and is attentive of your needs. the owner Pat whom I made the reservations with was very attentive to our needs also. Their were 16 in our motorcycle party many different ages and personalities and all where impressed and enjoyed the facillities. This would be a great place for a large snowmobile trip, Business get away, or family reunion. Thank you Tony and Pat for a great stay.
