You won't go wrong staying here
We've been to Pacific City many times over the last 2 decades. We've usually stayed by the water at Cape Kiwanda but with the recent buyout, the prices more than doubled. No longer reasonable. This time we stayed in town and chose the Surf & Sand. Could not have made a better choice. The small hotel has been updated, it's very clean, everything works. We arrived sometime after 1PM looking to park, not check in. Room was ready so in we went. Corner suite is large, separate bedroom, full kitchen. We were only there one night but I'd stay here multiple nights as needed. Woman at check in was very kind and professional. Nothing bad to say about this hotel. When in town, my wife & I won't hesitate to stay here.

Great accommodations for the price and location!
Very nice, clean accommodations. The room suited us well, allowing each couple to have their own space to sleep. Loved the little extras like the phonographs, the history, and the tea.

Convenient location
Cute little motel conveniently located to town. Old record players in room with lots of choices to pick from in lobby. Comfortable beds and room. Good showers. We had 2 bedroom which was right on the main road, could be loud during busy times. There was a sound machine in the room also, which would block the noise out.

Quirky, family-run, old-school motel.
This was our second visit to the Surf & Sand Inn. It has an old-school roadside motel vibe to it - you drive under a canopy to an interior courtyard where all the rooms are like little cabins. It's a family-run place so you'll see the hosts working check-in, laundry, cleaning etc. The rooms are clean and comfortable with very little noise-bleed-through from adjacent rooms. The bathroom was clean and functional. Each room has a vinyl record player and there's a huge library of vinyls to pick from at the front desk - this is part of the quirky charm of the place. The rooms have no A/C but in this part of America, this close to the ocean, you'd be more concerned about heating and there is a little wall heater in each room for chilly evenings. The rooms use a keypad entry system, not a key card, and at check-in they will text you the room key code for your room. There's also someone on-call all night and you can text them if you need anything. There is no breakfast offered here but the little store at the gas station a block away has fresh pastries in the morning and some microwavable breakfast bowls, as well as juices, sodas, tea, coffee etc. Sort of like a "gas station plus" store. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the beach and 5 minutes walk from the main crossroads where you'll find Meg's bar and grill, a pizza place, and a Chinese restaurant.

Great little place!
Great place. Lots of small touches that made the stay interesting. Totally remodeled and everything works well. It’s just a short 3 minute drive to the beach. We wish the weather was better other than real foggy. Will def be staying again next time!
