Avoid
I feel obligated to share my experience so others can avoid the same disappointment. This motel was, without exaggeration, one of the most unpleasant and unsanitary places I have ever stayed. From the start, the condition of the room was appalling. The toilet seat was cracked and damaged, the vents were caked with filth, and the ceiling fixtures were coated in years of dust and grime. Hair was left on the pillows, making them unusable, and we actually had to purchase sheets just to cover the beds so we could even lay down. The bathtub had clearly been painted over and was peeling badly, and the handle broke, leaving us unable to shower. Mold was visible along the edge of the sink, and dust had collected in every corner and hidden surface. Within 10 minutes of being there, my children’s socks had turned black from the filthy floors, and every time I wiped down a spot, the paper towels came away dark with dirt. To make matters worse, the fire alarms in the room weren’t even working, making this not only uncomfortable but a genuine safety hazard if a fire were to break out. We were supposed to stay four nights for a family vacation, but it was so unbearable that we left after the very first night — and in doing so, we lost the money we had already paid. No one should have to pay for a vacation they couldn’t even use because of such unacceptable conditions. When we raised our concerns, the owners did acknowledge the issues and offered to send in a cleaner and make repairs. But the room was in such poor shape that it would have taken all day to fix and clean, meaning we would have been left with nowhere to rest or relax in our motel during our trip. That was not a reasonable solution. Instead, they offered only a small discount if we booked with them again — an insulting response considering the circumstances. They justified the state of the property by calling it a “budget” motel, as though that excused the filth, neglect, and lack of basic safety measures. To add to the deception, the photos they advertise are misleading, clearly outdated, and in no way reflective of the actual condition of the property. What’s worse, they rely on a strict 30-day cancellation policy to trap guests. Because we booked within that window, we had no ability to cancel once we discovered how bad it truly was. This policy feels deliberately exploitative, designed to keep guests stuck. You couldn’t pay me to stay with this company again. It was gross, unsafe, and unacceptable from beginning to end. I would strongly caution anyone considering this motel to think twice — there are plenty of budget accommodations that remain honest, clean, and safe. Unfortunately, this is not one of them.

Perfect getaway
Enjoyed our yearly trip to Rockaway. We booked last minute, and found a room at Sea Haven Motel. Our usual place was booked. It had great reviews and great location. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the guesthouse. Perfect for our family of 5. It was beautiful and immaculate inside. 5 bedrooms, each with its own tv! Big screen in the living room. Cute living and dining room area. 2 counters with sinks! This house has everything you needed! The hosts were super sweet, told us where we could find sand dollars, and gave my girls a few of their own. I think we found our new place to stay.

There for Halloween! Nice!
Staying at the “Guest House” at Sea Haven Motel for the next 3 nights. The best kept secret in Rockaway Beach!!! This place has 5 bedrooms (all queens), two bathrooms and a sofa bed for extra large groups. Just bring food, everything else is provided! Maureen has thought of everything! There are 6 smaller units here also in the other portion of the property, and all are nicely accommodated, also! And, yes, pet friendly!!! Some even have washers and dryers. They will loan you their crab pots and supply you with propane cookers outside to cook them in. There are propane barbecues and fire pits to use, also. And, what a deal, too!! Very quaint and comfy!!

Great place for a large group at the beach
It can be hard to find a place at the beach for a large group of people. I recently visited this Guest House with a bunch of teenage boys on a fishing trip, and the Guest House was a perfect spot, and a good deal. Lots of beds, in a number of separate bedrooms, a large common area, full kitchen (with a couple of fridges) and eating area, two bathrooms. Not a fancy place, but functional, clean and neat. The hostess was very welcoming and helpful.

Nice Place to Say
We were upgraded to the Guest House. It would be a nice place for a family reunion, etc. They have thought of everything to make the stay comfortable. The owner, Maureen was fantastic. She had printed out maps and showed us places to go that we would have not found on our own. Even though, we have visited the Oregon Coast many time, this was our first time staying in Rockaway Beach. We were not disappointed.
