The good news is that this hotel is for you if you like sleeping on iron cots with a thin mattress. Feel lucky if you are fortunate enough to be greeted by a friendly young man when you arrive. The bad news is that the 5'4" brown-haired girl identified as Mandy does not belong in the hospitality industry. She spent most of the time in the back room talking on her phone. I had to search for her whenever I needed anything, which she treated as a significant imposition. Adding insult to injury, the complimentary "healthy" breakfast was half a bowl of cereal with 2% milk the first morning. When I finally found Mandy in the back on the phone the following morning, she put her phone down long enough to tell us they were out of granola cereal and immediately returned to her phone call! I spent years in the hospitality industry, working my way through college, and "Mandy" is better suited for a job that does not require an engagement with guests. She made our experience uncomfortable at best, which made the other faults more apparent. I would not recommend this hotel.

This was my second stay at this property and I really enjoyed it. The location is just down the hill from town, an easy walk or drive. The common area is amazing and the morning coffee and granola are great! The staff are amazing and always happy to help. As others have mentioned the rooms are a bit bare bones- no problem for a short stay. I can see how the soft product can leave people disappointed- the swing is cute but not actually functional. I’d definitely prefer a chair in my older age :) Anyway, most are just passing through for a night or two so the room totally works. I love the fireplace, deck, and salt lamp and other small touches throughout the property. I’ll always return to this hotel when I’m in the area. Thanks for a great stay!

My husband and I wanted to find a place to stay while the king tides were taking place in Jan. I found this place was reasonably priced. When we got to the hotel we were pleasantly surprised that we found this hidden gem. We arrived with a service dog and was greeted with a warm welcome. This place is a great place for pets. They keep dog pets, leashes, water bowls, extra towels for pets . Just about everything you might have forgotten to pack for your pet. The rooms are cute , quiet and a great view of the bay. Plenty of places to walk your dog also. I loved that they also have games for families to borrow and play. I large fireplace to sit and relax with coffee or tea. I will recommend this place yo friends.

We had one night on our roadtrip in Oregon. Service was good and clear. Rooms were spotless, but had no comfort at all. 2 hard metal chairs, beds were not made up. We had to do it ourselves. The chairs on the balcony were soaked because of the holes in the upper wooden balcony. So when it rains, you cannot sit outside, even when there's a roof above.

Stay Here!
We had a wonderfully restful and relaxing stay at SCP Depoe Bay. It was so nice to stay someplace different and unique from the usual cookie cutter hotels. Our room had a lovely view of the small harbor and iconic bridge. A fireplace ,comfy bed and balcony was so nice. The common room with a fireplace and large outdoor deck for eating breakfast was really fun. Depending on the weather you have a choice of where to have your coffee ,granola , and fruit. They had my favorite Smith Teas as well! I was careless and left some items behind. Julia at the desk was so helping in mailing them back to me! Highly recommend this off the beaten path gem on the beautiful Oregon Coast!
