Location, location, location
Great location as it is right on the beach, far from the usual crowds, but close to restaurants and shops. This hotel has the best equipped rooms of any I've stayed in, the grounds are tended to daily and the friendly staff promptly responds to any requests. This was my third stay here and I will be back for more.

Perfect beach choice!
What a wonderful place to enjoy all Cannon Beach has to offer! Fabulous rooms with gorgeous ocean views. Extremely friendly and dedicated staff! The property is meticulously kept. The best beach walking ever especially at low tide you can walk out so far. Of course highlight is a walk to nearby Haystack Rock and its tide pools of sea stars! Great restaurants, a bit pricey, but good food! Highlight of our Oregon vacation.

Building/units need to be maintained and items fixed
My family and my cousin’s family have been staying at Schooner Cove hotel at Cannon Beach for 30+ years and in the last few years, we’ve noticed a decline in the building/property. During our stay last weekend, we saw that the building and units have become even more dilapidated. Our particular unit had a Jimmy rigged “support” for the balcony above our unit, which was sagging and we didn’t feel safe sitting underneath on our deck. Additionally, our unit smelled very musty, even a little moldy. I wonder if there was some sort of water leak in the unit above which affected our unit below, especially in the bedroom and entry way. Also, the bathroom sink was quite cracked. We spoke with the staff person at the front desk, however, it sort of fell on deaf ears. It’s a shame, because we have spent/spend a lot of money to stay there and would expect the property to be maintained at these rates. Unfortunately, I forgot to take some photos before we left, otherwise I would’ve posted them. I will say that the housekeeping staff (Alisha), was very nice and super attentive to guests’ needs, as well as one of the front desk staff (woman) - super nice.
