A free night ~ Merry Christmas to us!
Normally I wouldn't "lodge" so close to home, but Husband and I won a one-night stay here, and we followed through. Margaret is a delightful hostess, although we didn't see much of her ~ she greeted us, showed us the communal areas (bathrooms included -- three separate rooms, different features in each), then left us on our own, telling us to holler downstairs if we needed anything. :) We had the big room with two queen beds; normally I don't sleep well in an unfamiliar setting, but this was an exception -- greatly because it was so homey. Actually, my own bedroom isn't nearly as homey. It is obvious that Jim and Margaret have devoted much TLC into making the rooms very pleasant. The alcove with hot beverage options, microwave, and refrigerator is very welcoming, as were the bathrooms. Voted "most enticing bathrooms" by me! Elkton is a cute town with three restaurants, several nearby wineries, and other "lures" which include great fishing, although we simply hoped for as quiet of a night as we have at our rural residence a half hour away. We were not disappointed. Cautionaries: My husband wasn't successful at finding a variety of TV stations (I left that to him). I'm uncertain about the "high speed" internet, but I am accustomed to mediocre wi-fi. I always try to travel with a good book and my Sudoku puzzles. Bottom line: We were the only guests... and felt so at home that we left the door to the central area open all night.

Charming, friendly and homey
I stayed here on a Saturday night, midway through a weekend music festival. I had the cute little room that Margaret, the owner/hostess/maternal presence of the inn, calls "the closet," with a shared bathroom and shower down the hall. It felt like staying in the large home of a friend who also had other company that night. The room was quiet and my bed (a twin) was unusually comfortable. The room decor was tastefully homey. Everything -- room, bath, hall, lounge, floors -- was kept spotless. I'll be back for next year's festival and hope to get a room here again.

Fish the Umpqua
Stayed at the River Inn in Elkton for three days last June while fishing for small mouth bass on the Umpqua river. The Inn has single rooms with one bed and one two bed suite. My fishing buddy and I stayed in the suite ($90/day). The suite was awesome; bedrooms were divided at each end of the suite with a common sitting area. The Inn does have a communal bathroom and a separate communal shower area, both very well appointed. The owners/hosts were very cordial and available to answer all inquiries. Diners and the river within walking distance. Nice to go to sleep with the sound of the river coming thru the windows.

Friendly place with great location
Three friends and myself were on a 10 day bicycle tour and felt extremely lucky to find such great accommodations in the small community of Elkton, OR. The owners, Margaret and Jim, went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We rented 3 rooms, one with 2 beds and the others with a bed each so that each of us had our own bed. The rooms are very moderately priced. There are two bath areas, one with a shower and sink, and the other with a jacuzzi, sink. and separate toilet area. The Inn is easily within walking distance to three restaurant and a couple wineries. As mentioned in other reviews the owners were friendly yet completely respected our privacy. It was a great night.

Comfortable
This a a small cozy and comfortable Inn. Not far from the river, you can leave your window open and listen to the water at night. It has a common single bathroom, separate shower and a jacuzzi tub, so with four guest rooms hopefully each guest is on a different schedule. It was a nice weekend getaway and within walking distance of restaurants and entertainment.
