Be very careful when booking directly through the Inn at Spanish Head website. I attempted to book 2 rooms for 8 guests for August 28–30. Their booking system clearly displayed “2 rooms, 8 guests” with a total of $905.73 including taxes and fees. When I proceeded to the next screen, the reservation suddenly changed to 1 room for 4 guests, while still showing the exact same $905.73 total. Thankfully, I noticed the discrepancy before completing the reservation and called the hotel. I explained exactly what their website was displaying and asked whether they would honor the 2-room reservation at the price shown. I was told they would not and that I would need to pay separately for the second room. What concerns me most is what could happen to someone who doesn't catch this. Had I trusted the first booking screen, I could have arrived with my family believing I had reserved 2 rooms, only to discover that the reservation was actually for 1 room and 4 guests. I'm attaching screenshots of both screens so others can see exactly what the booking system displayed. Whether this is a website malfunction or another issue, displaying 2 rooms for 8 guests at one total price and then changing the reservation to 1 room for 4 guests on the following screen is extremely misleading. I also told the hotel during my call that, based on this experience, I intended to leave a public review so other customers would be aware of what happened. I was told that was fine. I hope management takes this seriously and corrects the booking system so another family doesn't run into the same situation.

The hallway to get to room reminded me of a scene from the movie “The Shining”. It was LING, dark & very dimly lit. That should have been a sign of what was to come. No ghost encounters however or Johnnys Here! Room was an average size with nice decorations. Light fixtures didn’t work beside the bed. Sheets were so scratchy you could sand something down. The bathroom was very small and DARK. The TV remote didn’t work and the TV was small. To make one cup of coffee, you needed to fill the entire large Keurig coffee reservoir with water. The food menu seemed average at best. There are many other restaurants in Lincoln City to get a dynamic meal with an ocean view. Cost of room was high for you got. Expected way more. The positives: Staff was very friendly. The Balcony was great to sit on and watch the beach, waves & sunset. The pool area was very nice.

Used to be great, not anymore.
We have stayed there for many years. We reserved a King Suite like we always do, for our combined birthday trip. When we got into the room, it was a very tiny Queen Studio. Front desk was not helpful at all, they basically gave us the brush off. "Sorry, that's all we have". Management didn't even try to talk to us, clearly they don't care. We didn't even unpack, we just drove back home. Things have changed for the worse at this once great destination. Not sure if we are ever going back.

They are letting things get run down with no repair
We have stayed at Inn at Spanish Head many times in the past. It had been a few years since we were there. This time the room was very run down. They said it was newly remodeled, but it looked like 20 years ago. They moved us to a different room that was a little better. The bathroom had been remodeled. All the balconies have plastic chairs with NO pads and very dirty. The beach is filled with washed up driftwood and does not look like the picture they post. The people were nice and the restaurant (Fathoms) was pretty good along with the bar. Many things made of metal were VERY rusty and hadn't been painted in years. I would not stay there again until they do an entire face lift on the place! We booked 2 nights and left early.
