Not bad but will not stay again
The check in experience was not great. The room was very clean. It was surprisingly quiet. There is a tiny view of the ocean.

Disappointing Stay – Needs Serious Improvement.
Upon entering the first room, we were shocked to find it in a state of disarray, with trash on the floor, empty cans on the side tables, leftover food boxes on surfaces, and the bed, which had been used, with pillows and sheets visibly disturbed. The bathroom was also in a disgusting condition, with used towels left in the tub and hair present in the shower area. We immediately returned to the front desk to report the issue. The staff apologized and offered to move us to a different room. Though I already felt uneasy, we accepted the second room, as it was just for one night. The new room appeared clean, so we left our luggage there and went out for sightseeing. However, upon our return around 10:30 PM, after showering and settling in, we noticed that the air conditioning was not working. The room quickly became hot and uncomfortable, with only a small standing fan available. We attempted to contact the front desk, but the office was closed for the night. To make matters worse, the room next to us was boisterous, and we ended up getting no sleep at all that night due to the heat and disturbances. We checked out as early as possible the next morning, completely dissatisfied and exhausted. This experience fell far below acceptable standards and did not meet my expectations for a property booked through American Express. I do not believe I should be charged for a stay that failed to meet even basic cleanliness, comfort, and service expectations. We left early with trauma.

Good value, great location, and friendly service
We recently stayed a night at the Econo Lodge in Newport. It’s a no frills motel so you’re not going to get many extras, but the location is excellent with the beach being an easy walk away. The room was clean and has been updated. We even had a nice view of the ocean which was not expected. The service was outstanding. We will definitely consider the Econo Lodge when we need a night or two in Newport.

Part of Motel Row
We travel less than 100 miles today as we frquently stopped sight seeing the beauty of Oregon's Coast . We called ahead for our room and arrived before 6:00 pm and Jan went out to a local grocery store to grab some food to heat up in the microwave. The room was very clean and a comfortable bed. My back was relieved of pain and my asthsma was cleared. I had suffered with both for a number of days from my time on humid Vancouver Island. There was no breakfast set out at the motel so we had hot cereal and decaf coffee in our room before checking out.

My reservation was cancelled by this motel
I booked a 2 queen room. On check in I told the clerk I had a medical alert service dog. After looking he found a 2 queen room on the third floor, but then said he would have to cancel my reservation. This was because the third floor was supposedly set aside for hypoallergenic people. There was no mention of this in the reservation. After a long discussion he said there was nothing he could do. This was at 7:00 in the evening. Never had this happen before. My service dog was trained by Early Alert Canines for 6 months to alert on low blood sugar, after he failed Guide Dogs for the Blind training. EAC trained me for two weeks on how to use and take care of him; he is a true service dog. He is faster and more accurate for low blood sugar alerts than my Dexcom glucose monitor. Very disappointed in this Econo lodge motel.
