Wish I could give ZERO stars

Wish I could zero stars. Booked thru Hotels.com over a week ago. Since we had two dogs that would be with us I immediately called the hotel after my reservation thru Hotels.com was reserved to make sure that they reserved a pet friendly room for us. The lady I spoke with assured me that they had a room available for us. However the day of our check in, two hours prior to checkin I received a call telling me that they did not have any pet friendly rooms and could not accommodate us and they would need to cancel our reservation. Needless to say, not a great experience since we are coming from out of state. Had to scramble to try to find any other place that we could stay at with our dogs costing us a lot of extra money.

The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean and smelled good. Every room service associate would say good morning and wished us a great day. It was uncomfortable having only sheer curtains cover our door on a shared balcony, but other than that it was a great stay.

Outstanding place in all regards

If you travel enough on a budget you will get some hotels that are outstanding, some that are horrid and if you are lucky, on average, you will get decent places. So when a place like the Clarion pops up, you can really help a fellow travelor and their average experience with the nice side of the Bell Curve! This hotel was clean, with outstanding amenities, like a gym, and restaurant, and a staff that really helped make the experience great. Rooms were big, with microwaves and fridges, light and airy and comfortable. Great pet policy as well, and a great part of town.

Very comfortable bed and great breakfast

Check in was easy and friendly. Our room was clean. The 2 main pluses of the room was the spacious refrigerator and the very comfy bed. The decor and carpet need an update. My main suggestion would be to change the lamps to ones with outlets- outlets were scarce. The walls were thin - we heard the man next door talking and both cars and trains. However, the bed was so comfortable that overall we slept pretty well. There is water and coffee in the lobby and it was nicely decorated for Christmas. We were given breakfast coupons for the restaurant next door, which we really appreciated. There were several great choices that we could chose. We thought this was such a great amenity. The comfortable bed along with the great breakfast made for a good stay.

Full breakfast with stay

Great customer service; had our paperwork ready when we arrived. While the room was clean, the facility is tired and in need of update. It appears there might be some room renovation happening. Full breakfast was included with stay. The menu is limited but with a variety. Perfect portions for anyone traveling. The staff at the restaurant were great. In spite of being short staffed, the crew managed the choas very well.
