    Two night stay, nice hotel

We spent two nights at the hotel. Our only disappointment was that our room was extremely warm our entire stay and even with the window open did not cool down much. The rooms are controlled by a thermostat which controls the fireplace. The fireplace is the main source of heat, but I think the pilot light provides just enough existing heat to make it uncomfortable in a small room.

    Unique and wonderful

I loved the location right ON the river and the balcony where I could step outside and look around. Also loved the window seat where I spent an hour or more reading while drinking a glass of wine. And I loved the soaking tub, which I used. The room was very spacious, more like a suite.

    Overnight Getaway

My partner & I live about 2 hours away from this hotel. We decided to take a quick trip for relaxation & this hotel was nice for that purpose. It’s in a good location, with access to cool shops & food. The views were my favorite part of all of it. We enjoyed the spa tub, sauna, & complementary wine & hors d'oeuvres. This is a unique & charming hotel, but if you’re looking for a modern hotel, this isn’t it.

Cannery Pier and visit to Astoria

We had a great stay. Love this hotel and will definitely return. The hotel and customer service were outstanding even with the Covid-19 restrictions and awareness factors. We were able to antique shop and see the city.

We have been guests several times over the years and have had great experiences. The location is stunning, and the hotel is beautiful. This most-recent stay, however, was disappointing. This was the first time traveling to your hotel with our dog. When we booked, we were told we would be on the second floor and that is what the website indicated was the only pet-friendly room available as well. When we arrived our room was not ready at 4 p.m. and were told housekeeping was short-staffed. We did not have to wait too long before the room was ready and were then told we would be on the first floor; the desk reservationist told us she preferred the first floor because of the proximity to the water. While this is true and the view is amazing, our room (108) was directly across from the spa with people coming in and out all day and evening long to use the just-reopened hot tub. Not ideal for a weekend where we spent most of the time in our room due to COVID restrictions and severe, inclement weather. We were also not apprised of pet restrictions. When I went to the lobby with my dog to pick up the complimentary breakfast items, I was told that I couldn't have her in the lobby area because food was being served. The pet policies/restrictions should be communicated during booking and upon check-in. We had to ask where the area was to take out dog outside, which is not convenient to the rooms either, especially during the severe winds we endured that weekend. This hotel may have pet-friendly rooms, but is not an overall pet-friendly hotel. We had to call the front desk twice due to room disturbances. The first being our upstairs neighbors who were very noisy overhead until late in the evening the first night of our stay and the following morning. The most egregious, however, were the neighbors staying next to us. We had our outdoor door propped open for some fresh air the second night of our stay and in the early evening smelled marijuana smoke coming from outside, along with a conversation which was littered with profanity. So we closed our door, only to have the marijuana smoke seep into our room through the adjoining door that connected our rooms. (This is a non-smoking hotel.) Other issues: hair in the dresser drawers, microwave was dirty, vanity chair upholstery was significantly stained, chairs in the sitting area had worn upholstery, sauna was not heated, and no room directory in room.
